Ok, this one kinda makes sense. I was thinking these guys hit the portal during exhibition games before the regular season starts seems quick triggered.
This is wild. He's not like Robby Carmody, who barely played. For his career, he's played in 141 games and more than 3,000 minutes - which is like 4 1/2 years of games. He's a 1,000 point scorer in college. I get that he's got a bum knee, but sheesh.Played 16 minutes against us, went for 3 & 3.

He plays defense...so he doesn't.Injured, so meets our criteria, LOL.
A+ name. And so it begins ... (Firgured we had one for football and this will be super important for basketball this year might as well get it started as names started being added)
Red's next Juan Carlos for next year -
Didn’t recognize the name, but I see he didn’t play against ‘Cuse so that explains it. Looks like he has lit it up since the beginning of January.Red's next Juan Carlos for next year -
The problem is that’s difficult to do. Maybe taking a flyer on 1 guy and hope he works over achieves, but you can’t build a competitive roster like that.Chaz Lanier was at North Florida in the ASUN for 3 years and never averaged more than 4.7ppg in a year. In his 4th year he averages 19.7ppg on 44% from 3, wins ASUN player of the year - transfers to Tennessee where he’s the leading scorer, and shooting 41% from 3 on a top 10 team.
This dude averaged less than 5ppg as a junior at North Florida. Point is - scouting and identifying diamonds in the rough consistently can also help to overcome NIL problems. Would be nice to see Red take a guy with lower expectations and really have him breakout
If you return 3 guys you expect to be quality starters, have another 2 returning, and take 3 top100 freshman recruits, the rest of the roster spots should be players you think haven’t gotten a proper shot and might blow up from the bottom of your rotation. The problem is that’s difficult to do. Depends on positions. If none of the returnees is a quality point, do you really want to entrust things to a frosh or a guy who “might blow up” or would you rather look for a proven leader? If you return 3 guys you expect to be quality starters, have another 2 returning, and take 3 top100 freshman recruits, the rest of the roster spots should be players you think haven’t gotten a proper shot and might blow up from the bottom of your rotation.
Good point. I guess my point was if you already have a bunch of good recruits and returning guys, the deep depth ought to be a bunch of guys you think could be really good, and have just been overlooked, not low ceiling/medium floor veterans like most of our transfers this year.Depends on positions.
