It should be Barkley MVP and Burrow OPY at this point. IMO Hard to give a QB mvp when the guy with the best stats is 4-7.

A few weeks ago stroud and Jayden Daniels were first ballot HOF and Bo Nix was a bust. Bryce young was headed to the CFL. Sometimes we should just let things play out

I can’t find the tweet right now, but the only other guys to put up these numbers in a season are Brady, Brees, Rodgers and Mahomes. All of their teams won at least 13 games in those seasons. I also saw a stat that showed Brady lost 4 starts in his career where his team scored 33 points. The Bengals have had 3 such games this year.

Obviously ridiculous to not even consider another position, but it is obviously the most valuable position and therefore it will usually be the most valuable player.

Lamar and Josh both have a strong case this year as compared to last year where no QB had a particularly great season.

Feel like they needed to call timeout the second Caleb got sacked but they seemingly were not prepared for a scenario where he gets sacked.

QB sacks should be a reflex for a TO even if you are holding onto that last precious one for a FG because they take so much time to set up from. You lose your LA privileges . Just call the TO

And he doubled down in the post game interview claiming the end of game was handled correctly ! If he’s still the coach come Monday , the bears need to be relegated to the ACC

Youc all the TO after the sack. or you run the play before 10 secs. Once you get down to 4-5-6 secs you have to call the TO and figure out whether kicking the long FG or throwing a hail mary is the play.

Everyone seems to be placing this entirely at the feet of the HC. I am not as sure.

I think everything was going well, as the HC eluded to: "To me it's -- I think we handled it the right way, I do believe that you just rerack the play, get it in bounds and call timeout, and that's why we held it and didn't work out the way we wanted it to."

He's telling the media/fans -- without telling them -- that things were progressing as they should have been (more than likely a throw underneath for 7-10 yards) UNTIL the QB (he's young and inexperienced) thought he had to change the play to go deep (score the TD), most likely because he lost track that they had another TO.

What Eberflus should have done when he saw Caleb changing the play was bang the TO right there, maybe with 11 or 12 seconds left. That was really his only coaching botch: trusting a 23yo QB making his 12th NFL start to make the right call.

For me, this was 75% on the QB for not having situational awareness (how many time outs, what they need to accomplish, etc.) required in the moment. And for that, the HC and his 25% has to eat it.
