so the GB is on the ground with control and philly is allowed to rip it away and review lets it stand? down with control and touched nothing else really matters

That was a bizarre one.

Helmet to helmet seemed possible. But I suppose that's always an iffy one......

The replay really seems to show without a doubt that he had the ball while down. Not sure how the Eagles end up with the ball.

I think I’d rather have Bo Nix than Justin Herbert moving forward.

Fair. Nix looks like he'll be really good and will just improve.

The bit that's going to get annoying (at least as a Chargers fan) is that the narrative will flip and get annoying going in the other direction. That's coming from someone that trashes him for choking all the time.
He certainly has a TON to prove in big game situations.

Also, he really just has McConkey and the Bad News Bears to throw to. I would drop less passes in the NFL that most every person we toss out on the field other than Ladd.

I'll never get how the NFL counts "drops" - I've seen Johnston drop soooooooooooooooo many passes this year and he has like 5 for the year recorded. He had a game on SNF where he dropped 5 that hit him directly in the hands.

I guess what they are saying is that you have to have no question that he had firm control of the ball while lying on the ground. It was obvious he had the ball but did he have complete control of the ball is what you have to be certain of to overturn the call.Maybe one of those that had they said the packers recovered then they would not of overturned that call either.

That one angle it really looks definitive to me that he had control while down. I get it though.

And this is the thing with judging qb's so fast. No one knows what year 2 or 3 will bring. Herbert looked amazing as a rookie. There's plenty of examples, Mac Jones, Watson, Wentz, RG3, Stroud (although can't say he's bad this year just not what he looked like last year), etc. I like to wait until year 3 before anointing them, just have seen so many rookies look good then nothing or turn average after that.

Johnston is terrible. He cost me big time gambling on Monday night football earlier in the season because he dropped about 5 passes in one game alone.

all these coaches think they are the Lions.

Kick fgs in a hostile world with a rookie qb and get the game even.

Now they will be twice as loud.

I'm fine with it if a conversion gets you a near guarantee TD, not a new set of downs from the 20.

Clock management by some NFL teams is mind boggling.
It didn’t matter for seeding purposes, but Bowles cost his guys rest by mismanaging 3 games already this year. The first Falcons game was a sure win for them. He’s Dino 2.0 when it comes to the clock.

1 good game, this weekend sucked for the NFL. Oh yeah, we got 1 more tonight forgot

The best part of the weekend was Rex Ryan saying how the Chargers had received a bye because they were playing Houston, who then b-slapped the Chargers. And Woody Johnson is considering hiring him again? Woody has to be the stupidest owner in the whole NFL by at least an order of magnitude. Which is certainly not easy to do.

That one play when Jacobs went out, and it was 3rd and 3 whilst still only down 1 score...the Packers going to Wilson on a run play was maybe the dumbest play of the entire weekend.

Well, other than any Chargers play that relied upon Johnston catching a pass.
