It was pretty even into the second half. USA hit the cross bar and post. The recovery defense is horrible, and France exploited the weakness.

To be fair the US wasn’t that bad against France… France had a few moments of magic. But having said that, the match could have gone 900 minutes and the us would have struggled to score. Not sure what it is, but the entire men’s system seems to not be able to consistently put pressure against top 25 teams.

They are. They were hungry, motivated, controlled the midfield, dominated the ball, and our forwards picked Germany apart. This was vintage USA Women’s soccer.

That team that stunk up the 2023 World Cup had none of that in their game. That locker room needed to be cleaned out, quite frankly. Once the off-field stuff became more important than the on-field play, the team was cooked. We retained the right players from that team and finally moved on to the next generation of amazingly talented young ladies.

It’s soooo nice to have a coach on the sidelines that understands tactics and how to prepare a team of talented individuals. Both the men’s and women’s team have lacked that for the past 4 years. Emma Hayes is the real deal. Damn glad to have her. She’ll run that locker room like it should be, without distractions.

Really nice performance from the US Men. Yow, Aaronson, Paredes dynamic in attack with fluid movements. Quarterfinals vs Morocco Friday at 9am. First knockout round appearance since 2000.

These ladies are primed for a run. They are so talented and super fun to watch. I can’t believe the stark difference in level of discipline between the World Cup team and this one, especially in possession, ball control and execution in the final third. Night and day difference. Credit to Emma Hayes for doing so much in such little time with the team. USA Soccer knocked this hire out of the park.
