Tennessee has brought in another big today. I think it’s their second big from the portal. Estrella is going to get bumped again next year.
I’d say about half a million is what our limit would be for the right transfer. We sure weren’t willing to give Leffew that though. Also helps when you have a nice NIL budget, which I would SU b-ball would have.
Buddy didn’t start as a freshman at SU - he started just 5 games, only the first 2 games when Frank Howard was out with an ankle injury and the last 3 when Tyus Battle couldn’t play because of a hip injury in the 2 conference tournament games and then when Frank Howard was suspended against Baylor in the NCAA tournament. Buddy averaged just 17 minutes/game his freshman year.well both joe girard and buddy started as freshman . gotta believe his game is more polished than either of those two frosh.
You insist on confusing people with facts!Buddy didn’t start as a freshman at SU - he started just 5 games, only the first 2 games when Frank Howard was out with an ankle injury and the last 3 when Tyus Battle couldn’t play because of a hip injury in the 2 conference tournament games and then when Frank Howard was suspended against Baylor in the NCAA tournament. I would take Estrella for his potential.Tennessee has brought in another big today. I think it’s their second big from the portal. Estrella is going to get bumped again next year.

What isn’t even displayed are the teams who are losing experienced players who used up their eligibility or entering the draft and need to be replaced. Some like Duke will be replacing graduated players with freshman, others like UNC will still need to replace Bacot, Ryan, Ingram (NBA) etc but who aren’t included in the portal ins and out numbers. Yup, Louisville lost their entire team unless there’s a walk on who entered the portal.Louisville just absurd.
So he just ends up at Syracuse the following seasonTennessee has brought in another big today. I think it’s their second big from the portal. Estrella is going to get bumped again next year.
John Camden is someone I might kick the tires on. He is up to 220 and can shot the ball. SU recruited out of high school. He has multiple years left, sell him on Freeman most likely be a one and done and Davis running out of eligibility. Could play the 3 and 4 without demanding $$$.
It was pointed out earlier that there would be a bunch of candidates who, after working out for the NBA this month, are advised that they won't be drafted. May 29 is the deadline for them to announce that they are returning to NCAA basketball.I think any more portal additions we make will be like waiting for closing time at the bar. May not be the prettiest but there will be some options that are hanging around eagerly waiting. Limited investment with a chance to work out or at the least have some fun.
Cuse!
I don’t expect to find someone to be the 4th forward who is accomplished. Player will have flaws. Camden hasn’t played a ton but he can shoot it. Looking for someone like this.I think any more portal additions we make will be like waiting for closing time at the bar. May not be the prettiest but there will be some options that are hanging around eagerly waiting. Limited investment with a chance to work out or at the least have some fun.

When have you seen Patterson play?id take him over patterson - what are your expectations for 3rd center?
Couple years ago maybe.Long range sniper from NY and played on city rocks
he played in exhibtion vs st rose...just looked like a typical syracuse center...no offense, maybe ok defense...but not ready for ACC play at all, imoWhen have you seen Patterson play?
