2024 Seating Changes

last year we got fball invoices in march. Are we really not doing anything until June with all the crazyness of new seats added to it?

No, you’re going to decide to renew in February

You won’t pick your new seats until June at the earliest

You’re going to pay before you know where you’re sitting. Seems legit
Probably to give those who want to use an extended payment plan the opportunity to do so.

But it’s not really, because in order to get credit for the new seats, you have to have all the money in by May 1…

Normally a payment plan gets you until August.

If they wanted it to be done for people on payment plans they should have done renewals back in November so people could have their money credited on to their account by May 1st

My extended payment plan screwed me out of the parking pass promo last year. I like the idea of starting in November like you say

The main issue here is that people are confused. I don't think there is any way they don't know that people are confused.

Why not spend 10 min to compose an update/clarification of the process and send it to the STH.

Its a great time to find out of people want out, that helps them move seat locations.
Its a great time to find out of people are thinking of wanting more seats.

More information earlier should be a goal for them, in a process that's going to have issues even without the new quirks being added in.

They should have ideas on pricing, why not look for feedback? Various people have heard different stories on that as well.

Did they install test seats in the dome for people to try during BBall season? That might help some make decisions as well? It might get people to go to a BBall game who knows.

I’ve had seasons for 28 years. Seen some good, and a lot of bad football. I’ll be pissed if I lose my seats
I have had the same for forty-two(since dome construction), still have no real idea of where we will be.

This is what it says in the email from Dec 20:

#Commit2Cuse today! Fans interested in new season tickets are encouraged to place a deposit to be added to a waitlist for 2024 football season tickets. Already a season ticket holder? You can still put down a deposit to secure your seats.

Don't wait, secure your spot now!

Really though, the casual fan sees this and thinks , put money down and I secure "MY SEATS" not just any seats.

How many people still don't know they will be forced to move? If you are not tuned in to a place like this, many are gonna find out pretty late and not be happy.

They absolutely need sample or test seats somewhere for the Spring game. I love the view for 300 but if the seats are a lot better in 100 I might move. It also as you said gets people in the door, but in this case the Spring game and not BBall. I would certainly show up when I normally would not.

they were supposed to have test seats in the fall

They were unfortunately behind schedule and didn’t come in

I would assume they are in by now and likely will be displayed somewhere during the basketball season and spring game but also, I can’t be 100% positive on that

which I think is what's causing the confusion.

I read this and said "why the heck would I put down a deposit for season tickets I already have"? I'll just pay when due. so the school is a little guilty of the confusion that's been caused.

None of this makes sense. Sending out potential information just creates more confusion. Until everything is finalized there's no reason to do this.

A couple of guys in my group texted when they saw this and said do we have to put down a deposit to keep our seats?

I get wanting to get money early. Cash is king. But yes, I think it created some unnecessary confusion for fans that are well aware of the individual seat installation and the obvious momentum from the Fran hire.

the plan for seats was a long time ago.

you mean like

1) we dont have pricing decided
2) we wont know when its gonna happen
3) we dont know where you are gonna sit
4) we dont know how we applied deposit money

or reach out with updated info that may have been lost from weeks ago.

1) We will be letting you know in XXX weeks when pricing will be known
2) We will be looking to contact you in YYY weeks to see where you stand
3) Your seating may not be in your current location or section because...
4) if you are a STH and made a deposit it will be applied/refunded in this way
5) If you would like to check out the various seats in case it would influence your seating decision, come to bball or spring game and checkout behind section AAA to see what we have planned in your area.

Sad. And the thing is, if someone donates more money than you and wants your seats….see ya! Longevity means nothing. Learned that the hard way. And it’s a one off. Someone donates more money than you this year and gets your seats, they have them forever, no more donations needed.

If they tell you when pricing will be known, and then have to push it back, they look bad.

If they post the STH deposit line, it confuses more (those that didn't place a deposit) than it helps (the small percentage that did).

They probably don't know how relocations are going to work yet so they don't want to cause panic that your current seats might be located if they don't have to.

I understand money is all they care about, but at least give the people with longevity the option of matching before giving them to someone else.

Agree. I only know because of this board. But I don't always read carefully, so...

They don’t care. It is the money. I was told numerous times that maybe I should buy basketball seasons, or, pay more money to move up in donation level. Longevity wasn’t a consideration

You can't please everyone. There's also a lot more inventory for great football seats than great basketball seats. So you have to take that into consideration.

If your $250 aisle seat has to move one row over, it's not the end of the world.

Where are your seats for football?

Everyone’s seats will be relocated

As far as Syracuse is concerned, your seats no longer exist

I have been told this NUMEROUS times by many people, high and low, within the athletic department
