I agree. The Judge blunder set the table. I liken Volpe’s play to Pettite’s play at 3rd in G5 1996. Risky, but the right choice. Tough error call imo. (If safe 96 not sure we win).
Any irony in a “Mookie” hitting the slow roller to 1st?
Agreed, Judge's error broke the spell and introduced doubt. Volpe's error came on the only play he had, and I believe some panic had begun to set in there. You know, trying too hard to make up for the captain's drop. Not a biggie, but on the heels of Judge's faux pas it seemed bigger. Maybe the two are what rattled Cole?
