2025-26 Basketball Schedule

well it's about time we stopped playing exhibitions against D2 schools and giving us a false sense of security. After one of the exhibitions last season, somebody said on this board that Jaquan Carlos looked like another Tyler Ennis, LMAO. I remember Kaleb Joseph and Jalen Carey looking like All-Americans vs. the D2 schools.

It’s ironic that parking costs go up and season tickets remain the same with fewer games being held at the JMA Dome. There’s at least five games on the road (LaSalle, St. Joes, NIL Tourney-3) and one less exhibition game. I guess that’s what happens when people stop showing up for games. I heard last year the women’s program was looking to move several games around the state because attendance is so low.

WIVB.com’s Jonah Bronstein, citing unnamed sources, first reported the matchup at the Buffalo Key Bank Center. Syracuse assistant coach Peter Corasaniti, who handles the Orange scheduling, confirmed the game in a phone conversation.

An NCAA rule change last January allows Division I teams to play up to two exhibition games against other Division I opponents. That prompted talks about a Syracuse and Buffalo possibility, Corasaniti said.

“It’s a unique opportunity,” he said.

The game will allow Syracuse basketball fans from Western New York easier access to see SU play in person. Syracuse traveled to Rochester in 2022 and 2023 to stage intrasquad scrimmages with its men’s and women’s teams. This game offers the same kind of exposure in Buffalo.

SU will play one more exhibition game in the JMA Wireless Dome, Corasaniti said. Pace will be the opponent. SU’s complete non-conference schedule should be available next week.

Agree and I'm guilty of it also. I would think last year solidified the uselessness of playing D2 schools in exhibition games. Buffalo hasn't been good lately, but they will still be better competition.

The guy who replaced Nate went 70-49 over 4 years, but the current guy has been a total disaster over his 2 seasons.
what happened to the 70-49 guy, another job?

Are we trying to avoid the embarrassment of an empty dome for week night and maybe weekend non conference games in November and December?

A home bball game used to be gold for the balance sheet, now we're giving them away?

can't understand that, isn't the MAC a one bid league, did they really expect to go to the NCAAs every year? They must regret that decision, they've been terrible in the 2 years since they canned him

Great call

This will also be our first game in WNY since November 2006
We lost to Dayton there in the 2014 second round, but I assume you meant regular season game.

Well 2 years ago they struggled against the d2 teams, last year when they dominated many though it meant they'd be better. Can't really blame folks for reacting like that.
