2025-26 Coaching Carousel

Siena is an unserious midmajor hoops program. BC is an unserious P5 program.

You don’t just so easily say nah not my thing as a 2nd year head coach with a chance to move into P5.

I’m out here in Siena land. People don’t even know how to spell basketball or have any sports for that matter. Sure they’ll be excited for a tourney but year after year it will always be the same.

At BC people will understand if he doesn’t succeed in the ACC. At Siena if he has a few bad seasons or even just 1 or 2 then even teams like BC won’t be calling.

Just saying he doesn’t even need to turn BC into some powerhouse. Just moving them up to the middle of the ACC would have better programs watching.
Just saying he won't turn them in to a middle of the pack ACC team. John Wooden couldn't in today's environment. Gerry won't stay forever at Siena. But B.C. is a career ender.

I hear ya on BC.

I just watch the game last night and think if he’s missing a Doty or an injury that’s an early exit from the conf tourney and then a year or two of that and he’s gonna be stalled there for years and years.

I mean obviously he’s young and has time but still.

I guess it’s a big gamble if he wants to play with the big fish or not.

Here’s one. Named amongst a number of other possibilities.
I don’t see Georgia Tech landing any of those candidates. Maybe they have a shot at Casey Alexander. Takayo Siddle at UNC Wilmington could be a great fit for them. Otherwise they’re gonna have to look at a lower level mid major coach. No way they even think about Gmac though, lol. Ron Hunter might be a good fit, but he’s been struggling at Tulane of late.

Ron Hunter would be a great hire, given his Atlanta connections, but he's said his next stop will be broadcasting, not another coaching gig.

He's got a pretty good recruiting class coming in. He is now twice fired correct so his career is over. Wonder if that job is equal to ours in terms of appeal.
No, it’s not equal. But I do think Pitt can get back to being very good again.
