UCLA just seems cursed recently. Should be a good job but it's not.

Little brother in their city, out of place in their conference, home atmosphere is pretty awful, but they have nice wome... errr weather.

O/T: What in the world has happened in the NFL such that Mike McDaniel is a head coach??? It used to be football coaches that made you run through a wall by looking like they could do it themselves... this guy looks like he should be trying to find the right words to try to explain to a lay person why the company server went down.

I doubt their AD has the stones but it might be their best shot to get things turned around.

As Rick Neuheisel mentioned on the radio this morning, in today's college football landscape, turning things around is less to do with the coach and more to do with how much a school is going to invest. UCLA is tens of millions in debt. The state of California is not going to invest 100's of millions of dollars (like VTech announced a couple days ago) into the program. UCLA will be mid-to-lower tier for years to come.

Neuheisel is an @ss clown who today could only talk about Syracuse getting fined for faking injuries and implied we're cheaters like that clown didn't have the NCAA come down on his @ss at Washington. What is worse--firing a guy who goes 5-7 (winning FCS and splitting the remainder of games) or firing a guy and then the team goes 2-10 with no head coach?

Word is Kevin Coyle a Senior Defensive Analyst has been poached by UCLA to be their Defensive Coordinator for the remainder of the season.

When UCLA fired DeShaun Foster two weeks ago they named Tim Skipper to be the interim Head Coach. Skipper and Coyle worked together at Fresno State from 2022 thru 2024.

With Syracuse coach Coyle, who has extensive experience as a defensive coordinator, was working with the secondary. I understand Coyle was very involved in putting together the defensive game plan for the Clemson game last week. I'm guessing he prefers hunting over fishing.

It will be interesting to see if Coyle's absence is noticeable or not.
