2025-26 Coaching Carousel

You could go a few ways
1. Pa Dutch
2. Classic I live in PA but my family is from the "south"
3. Redneck
4. Transplanted Philly native

Re- Franklin's firing, as someone who spent some time living in Central PA and still visits, I imagine those would sound like:
  1. PA Dutch - "He's all."
  2. Cent PA-er - "I told yous he (meaning a black man) wasn't smart enough to do the job. RIP JoePa. Greatest coach ever."
  3. Redneck - See #2 above without the JoePa reference.
  4. Transplanted Philly native -- "Fuuuuuuuuuck that guy! Fly Eagles fly!"

So that's how to get away with using that word...

also transplanted philly native "I need a cup of wooder"

Recruits want to play right away as well and looking at this roster a lot of those guys could.
This is why I pointed out a week ago that a good backup QB is going to be a hard find unless you are one of the top 3 or 4 schools and your backup gets really big $$$$. But all of them want to play not sit and collect a paycheck.

Yep not easy. With Angeli coming off a major injury, however, it will be easier for Fran to sell a kid on having a legit chance to play. No guarantee that Steve will be healthy come fall camp or the start of the 2026 season, and definitely not spring practice when a new guy can come in and get a lot of run

True. This might be the one unique situation in the new NIL/transfer portal world where a good backup might be interested because Angeli could end up as the backup.

In the portal/NIL era there is no next year. So nothing good from a bad season. I rather have gone 8-4 this year than 4-8 and having no clue what players will be back. Sadly that is the state of CFB now. Every season is starting from scratch. There is little carryover.
simply not true. Bama this year and Ohio State last year both had a lot of guys return, and look where they ended up — one won the natty, and the other’s a championship contender. I know Cuse isn’t on that level yet, but if we can retain our talent, we’ll be right back next year and win the conferenc

He’d be crazy to leave. UF is a dumpster fire. LSU is insane. They love him at Mississippi, and they are good with being real good and a contender.

And from what I've heard but not yet seen, you could live in a lot of places worse than Oxford, MS. Like, for example, Gainesville, FL.

Rationally, yes. But LSU (and Florida) are up the prestige food chain. And Lane has an ego (as does any coach performing at that level.)

So curious what’s going to happen here other than the arms race that was was facilities is now escalating for the coaches. And of course, the players.

With the 12 team playoff not sure food chain matters that much.
