2025-26 NBA

He’s made noticeable improvements so far this year. In two years he will be a monster .
I only saw him in the playoffs last year. Not sure I would trade that guy. He’s perfect for how they play. I would love to see that guy with GSW, but no way that happens.

OKC is 23-1 and won by 30 last night without SGA.

If they don't win the championship this year, the only reasonable reason would be if 2 or 3 of their best players are hurt. Because they've steamrolled the entire league through its first third of the season, without a couple important guys.

I don’t know. They are for sure going to be heavy favorites. But half the league isn’t trying and of the other half, there are about 7 or 8 actual good teams. They’re going to have to do through 3 of Denver , Houston , LA , SA likely and while favored in each of those series , gamblers will tell you even a likely thing happening three times in a row is unlikely

Yes, statistically you're right. They are not SO much better than the other teams that winning 4 series in a row is more than about a 20% chance, stringing all of it together. But everybody else has half that chance, or worse.

One more quick thought - I read recently that they were on track to have the best scoring margin ever, better than even the 1971-72 Lakers who won 33 straight with Wilt at Center.

I just looked this up, you are half right. They are on pace to have the greatest scoring margin of all time (they are at 16.17, the record is 12.87; obviously I would expect their margin to contract as you play more games) however the team they would displace at the top of the list would be...the 24-25 Thunder.

Denver almost took them out last year and Denver is better and with all their ability to pretty much shut down any player - Joker is still a wild card for them.

I think OKC wins it if healthy but they could be 80-2 and if Denver is healthy that is going to be a great series.

Maybe it's my imagination, but I feel like both college basketball and the NBA right now have a chronic shortage of big personality/charismatic coaches.

I was watching OKC/Phoenix last night on Amazon Prime, and I realized that I didn't even know the name of OKC's coach Mark Daigeault, and he may be leading the greatest team ever. He's doing an amazing job, but he looks like he would be working customer service at Best Buy.

I sort of like that. No Jackson, Riley egos sucking up the oxygen.

CLEAN!!!
would have been a travel 100% of the time back in the day.. As would much of carrying/palming they are allowed to do now. One reason that stuff like Bob Cousy looks kinda funky from back in the day, not only because the balls were worse, they actually called more of those types of rules.

It's because the analytics have erased the intuitive edge the eccentric coaches had. So now you get really boring guys (id est, nerds) as the head coaches because those guys will work their butts off diving into the numbers and aren't cool enough to hang in the back room of the restaurant and puff on cigars.

Speak for yourself, I still get to root for Doc Rivers

Here's the one move each team should make before the trade deadline.

The things i'm looking for:
** Where Giannis may go
** Will Dallas trade AD or look to extend him or what?
** Personally, what's the deal with Yabusele for the Knicks
** In general, what the Clippers may do because it seems like every month a new story breaks that is awful for them.

Finally, nothing to really see, but the Thunder's future is ridiculous with the aggregation of picks and swaps they have with how well they've done with their existing roster.

Thunder are set up beautifully but they are never going to have a Wemby. A ton of their next moves are going to based off how to deal with Wemby.
