2025-26 NBA

it makes these kinds of trades tough. Teams that want to trade for him are trying to win now so they dont want to trade valuable assets off their current rosters. Like-wise the Bucks wouldn't be interested in a bunch of draft picks from team that is going to be drafting at the end of the first round for the coming years.

Thats why you need a unique situation where a good team that wants him holds crappy team draft assets like Houston , ATL.

Or someone who controls some of the Bucks picks coming up

There isn't much point discussing things Giannis related with Matt.
He undersells him a lot.

He defended a Towns/First for Giannis proposal a few months back... now he is Embiid v2.

How many centers in the NBA can't shoot the 3?
That's a problem in the modern NBA.

Any Celtics fans out there ? Has udoka always been such a trash coach when it comes to offense ?

Houston does have the #3 offense in the league. But they do it mostly by blunt force (outrageous offensive rebounding)

time to cool it a bit on on OKC being one of the best of all time. The Spurs look like they’ve figured them out.

Cooper Flagg's a stud. 31/9/9 on 14-21 shooting in a win over Denver.

Yeah there was a brief period where Flagg struggled to start the season. That seems like it's over.

They've lost 3 of 5 (still 26-4, on pace for 71-11, lol).

I was curious, just scanned the results for the teams with the best records of all time. In no order (and none of this means anything)
1) 96 Bulls. They did lose 2 in a row, but they never lost 3 of 5 all season.
2) 16 Warriors. Lost 2 of 3 twice, but never 3 of 5.
3) 72 Lakers. Lost 3 of 5 early on, and then also lost 4 out of 6, and another back to back losses. Chumps.
4) 68 Sixers. Lost 4 out of 5 (!)

Joker last night: 56/16/15 on 21 shot attempts. There's simply no one who has ever done this before.

I genuinely think he's on pace to be the greatest player ever. He just needs a couple more rings.

If his mates could have pulled off the Olympic win over US hed be knocking on GOAT door.

Warning. Warning .

The lakers despite having Luka funneled to them are not a legit threat. Look for the NBA to ratchet up attempts to funnel Giannis to LA.

Bucks get the first pick, everyone wins.

LeBron is on an expiring contract. It won't be renewed. If Giannis can wait for free agency, then he doesn't have to gut his new team to get paid.

NBA won’t take any chances

The Celtics have really found their stride. They were slow out of the gate starting 5-7, but have won 14 out of their last 18 games are currently 4.5 games out of first place in the East. Jaylen Brown averaging almost 30 per game on 50% shooting.

He's without question the most talented 7 footer ever. I wouldn't say he'll be the greatest player ever. IMO LeBron exceeds him with both ceiling and longevity.

I'd put Jokic in my top 10-15, easily. IMO he's surpassed Durant.

Jordan/LBJ
LBJ/Jordan
Russell
Kareem
Magic
Curry
Bird
Wilt
Kobe
Jokic
Duncan
Shaq
Durant
Olajuwon
Robertson

They were until Reaves started having calf issues. He's been a great third elite scorer for them. The issue with the Lakers and Nuggets, unlike the Spurs, is that neither of those two teams play any kind of defense.

My Knicks look like serious final contenders in the East. IMO they should trade KAT and McBride straight up for Giannis.

McBride becomes expendable due to Kolek's emergence.

I honestly think the biggest impediment to Joker becoming a Top 5 player of all time is just getting bored/homesick and wanting to go back to Serbia. He doesn't seem to live/breathe basketball the way most of these other guys did. I could see him retiring out of nowhere like Barry Sanders did. And there's so much parity in the NBA right now (probably the most in my lifetime) that racking up rings will be very difficult for him.

Giannis is a FA after next season, it will be somewhat difficult for the Lakers to maintain all that space through to summer of 27. (They have a low cap hold for Reaves this summer, so I assumed they'd try and use cap space over this coming summer)

Maybe there's a reason I'm not aware of, but I don't understand why the Bucks blew up their core group that had so much success in the early 2020s.

Middleton couldn’t stay healthy, Holiday was abysmal in the playoffs for multiple years, and Lopez got old/couldn’t stay healthy.
