I’m personally not as high on Doty as others (I think he can be a good player, not an 18 ppg player). So it depending on how you feel and what you believe it is, it’s more than that.

I thought Bees or Dash indicated Doty's nil was not bad at all. Bees/Dash sorry if I am misremembering here.

Edit: $1.2m for GMacs best Siena player and who helps bring culture/mindset and is in a group of top 6 players on the team. If ~$12m is the total bucket number, $1.2 isn't bad in my opinion at all.

I doubt they are counting on him for 18 pts. His defense/scrappiness/court sense add to his value.

He’s widely viewed as a top 100 portal player. None of those guys are going for 600k.

Then it’s a good payment in your eyes which is fine. I think he would have came for less at a hometown discount and to play for his favorite team, knowing extra money would help bring in more talent

If ~$12m is the total, the distribution depending on targets could flex a few ways easy:
Starting 5-
$3m
$2m
$1.2m
$1.2m
$800k

That is $8.2m with $3.8m to play with for the rest of the team with obviously variations that can happen across players 1 to 13.

Edit: in the scenario above we have not paid anyone as of yet $3m. It's just meant as an example only.

He kind of was though, but you can't have a guard with a turnover problem if you aren't a good rebounding team.

People need to realize Doty was widely considered a top 60-70 portal guy and had other P5 teams after him. That isn’t a $700K guy. He followed Gerry from Siena so the thought is we got him really cheap. Apparently not.

For those of you who have been here for less than a year, remember, not everything that you read here is true. Over time you will identify the posters that actually have access to inside information. There aren't all that many of them. When Jeremy says 1.2 mil for Doty, he heard that from a reliable source. Ultimately, it may not be true because it's a fluid situation and things change, but his source is reliable, based on a history that stretches over many years.

On a side note, I'm really impressed by the patience a lot of you have shown some of the newer posters. My ignore list is getting longer by the day.

Yeah, I need to start using it more. A few of these newer posters just don't know how to disagree with others without hurling personal insults. This is a discussion board. There should be differing views. Some of what is lost is how we all essentially want the same thing in the end.
