Incorrect.

Disciplinary issues cost him 4 games early in the year, then left the team.

Sorry - not one I'd go after. But not surprised this is the group we are having to target.
We aren’t just having to target discipline problems, worth a look at the kid and see how he fits in

Kid played on a bad team at UAB. Was suspended multiple times in one year.

Sorry - you can think Fran is some sort of savior, but I would rather not have to go after these types.

Doesn’t seem like a lot of players from good/big schools so far and a lot of lower level guys

Most of those guys are setting up multiple visits or are the top end guys that we can't $$$ cover. I suspect we will hear about some power guys visiting over the next few weeks but I believe the staff is now targeting guys they feel can make an impact and are looking to get them in the fold sooner rather then later. I'd also note some of these guy albeit from smaller schools have multiple power team interest, see the Florida Qb, the New Mexico TE, the Toledo guys etc.

I don’t think Fran is a savior, cousin of Ithaca Barrel, I think it can’t hurt to bring the kid in for a visit. Would I rather have an SEC budget and throw a ton at Ian Strong and others like him? Yes, but we don’t

Guessing with a lot of holes to fill, we will see mostly productive G6 guys and young/lower depth chart guys from bigger schools, like the Tennessee kid visiting

Correct. A guy like Strong SU has the funds for as far as I know, however that means other positions are going to have to take the hit. Do you bring in 4 or 5 guys to address multiple positions or bring in Strong and maybe 1 more with that same amount of $. Tough calls.

We need 2 deep pieces as much as we need 1 deep pieces so I expect to see a mix. Like WR for example, we can probably use a vet 2 deep piece but I really don’t think we need to be chasing a P4 all conference player who will command big NIL $$.

Besides Stokes and the UAB WR, is anyone else visiting this weekend? At least that has been made public.. lots of visits for next week apparently
Yes. Like I said in a couple other threads. Cran and staff have been working behind the scenes for awhile now. This weekend and next weekend are huge visit weekends for transfers. We’ll have a full house this weekend and next. I expect a few Toledo players this weekend as well.

I said in another thread or maybe this one about a week or two ago that I fully expect at least a few commits within the first few days. I still expect that. I think by Monday or Tuesday we have 3-4 transfer commits

I suspect this as well as SU does need to address multiple positions as we all know. Still, with Fran don't rule anything out.

Name calling? Get real.

I am simply pointing out that I would rather not take chances on kids that have issues, especially multiple in the same year, at a position of need.

100%, he wants to move fast and lock some guys in. Certainly will wait on some guys but he definitely wants to try and get guys in the fold versus this dragging out for months.

I am not name calling, you and the Fran as savior nonsense was gratuitous, it has nothing to do with the subject. I would rather not either, nor would Fran, but we don’t have Ohio State level budget, so you kick the tires if the kid didn’t commit violent crime kind of stuff.

How many guys do you think we’ll have on campus next week? I’m really intrigued—and impressed—by how quickly Fran is scheduling visits and getting prospects on campus.

Excellent! I now remember you saying this weekend would be very busy. My 58 year old brain can barely remember my name..

Exact#'s are hard to guess but I'd say at least another half dozen, CuseMan4 may have more insight into actual #s.

And if we’re going to spend big, it’s going to be for a QB and help upfront on the line. Specifically DT. I don’t see us breaking the bank for a WR

Fix OL and DL before spending money on skilled position players IMO. Syracuse should strive for a top end OL and DL every year along with QB.
