Pretty sure that’s our plan as well. For the top schools, they never really need to recruit HS QBs again. They could just buy the best Sophs yearly, rinse and repeat.
Toledo LB, third team All MAC
He excelled in pass coverage last season, and that’s exactly what we need. Teams exposed us last year because of poor coverage from the linebacker room.
I think the depth was disappointing in my opinion for the position.Overall backer coverage was fine imo. They were exposed in run support whether talent or scheme idk.
My perception is that in recent, past years, opposing teams were able to consistently run inside on us, so we attempted to add some size along the front 7 on defense. The trade-off is that bulky LBs are not as effective at dropping back in pass coverage. Of course, this can be addressed by situational substitutions in obvious passing situations (including nickle packages). He excelled in pass coverage last season, and that’s exactly what we need. Great analysis, I agree I think we need to add more variety in the room.My perception is that in recent, past years, opposing teams were able to consistently run inside on us, so we attempted to add some size along the front 7 on defense.
