Who is this WR1 he speaks of...we certainly can't rely on Calvin Russell being a #1 WR on day one. Sure he has the talent to do it but that would be a massive risk to take

You forgot Angeli but yeah, can’t imagine too many guys are making big cash on the current roster.

I think he’s getting close to $1.150 a year but even then that’s around $3-4 million with 4 guys where does the other $12-$15 going for this team right now?

If the players are truly concerned about education, the scholarship is guaranteed for four years. The player may not ever be on the team but he can keep his scholarship. So they are NOT pushed out of school; they are pushed off the team.

Thats the part people dont think of with Russel. If he is awesome we will struggle to keep him

I’m pretty sure the contract is like 3 years $4.5 million

I get that, but hopefully with better coaching and schemes the lines looks better. There is a high ceiling there with the kind of bodies they got.

If we don’t bring in significant D-line talent cost be damned we will struggle to make a bowl game. The Acc is getting significantly better it appears and when teams like Cal are loading up we could be in serious trouble. It’s still early but teams in our conference are being aggressive I would hope we do the same, couple of ok pieces added so far and hopefully they are great but our defense probably needs at least 2 d lineman, secondary help and another starting linebacker. I got to imagine there is still plenty of $ in reserve with what we lost and having such a young unproven roster.
