He’s not spending any money this offseason. The organization thinks that they can run back the same team from last season and that they’ll win a World Series. They couldn’t even win the division. Also, everyone else is getting better and we’re waiting on Bellinger while doing nothing else. It’s so frustrating with Cashman as the GM and Hal as the owner.

Has the team developed an above average (heck even top 2/3) position player in the last 10 years outside of Judge? I guess if you consider Wells/Rice?

Imai was also right there and was very affordable (3 years for $54 million with the possibility that not getting up to $63 million). The Yankees continue to sit on their hands and let everyone else get better. Not saying they should’ve signed Okamoto, but it’s getting ridiculous now.

Do you think that this at least makes it more likely that Bichette will now sign elsewhere? I hope so, for the NYY’s sake, and also for the fact of how much scarier the Blue Jay’s lineup becomes if he were to stay.

I still think it’s possible that he goes back, but I think it’s more likely that they sign Kyle Tucker.

That’s a crap-ton of money they’d have to put out for that to happen. I think I’d like to see the Yankees get Bichette more than Tucker, but the injuries do scare me. I’d also really like to see Bellinger back in pinstripes.

The Blue Jays have the money to do that, and they want 1 more bat. It’s very likely they get someone else, and I’d bet that it’s Tucker. I think Bellinger comes back to the Yankees, and I see Bichette either going back to the Jays or going to the Red Sox or Dodgers.

As someone who follows the Cubs, Tucker had a rather lackluster second half to 2025. Put me in the camp if not overpaying for him. If the Yankees got Bo Bichette would he play second and Jazz move to third?

They have McMahon and they’re paying him $19 million a year or something like that. If they got Bichette (which I don’t see likely), I assume they’d trade Jazz as they’ve taken calls on him and put Bichette at second base.

I guess it all depends on what they value. If they want better defense at third, McMahon is the play. If they want more offense, Jazz is the answer. Not to mention they’d get much more in a trade for Jazz than Ryan.
 
I’m thinking they must be close to a deal for Bellinger. Trading for a front line pitcher is going to cost them one of either Gil or Warren and probably Dominguez leaving a gap in left field.

Rosario was brought back for a reason, to platoon with McMahon. If they get Bichette I could see Jazz going to the outfield before going back to third base (but I assume they’d trade Jazz). They realized playing him there last year was a mistake.
