2025 MLB Season

Little looks extremely shaky. If he gets out of this inning, it’s gotta be close to over…

Bingo. Guy was yanking too many breaking balls and finally hung one to a top tier hitter. That was almost a guarantee.

Both my WS bets of Toronto to win game 1 / LA to win the series and LA -1.5 games are looking solid.

Jays came up a Little short.

Getting one clean inning out of this guy was asking a lot. 2 innings would have been a miracle.
He made the roster because he was a Lefty, but clearly he is not trusted.
Yariel Rodriguez may have been better to be on the roster, but then again like Little he only shined brightly in the first half of the year, and 2 scoreless innings is tough for him too.

nobody ever expects a game to last that long so hindsight obviously is big but what moves specifically?
The sports talking heads are saying he pulled Barger, Bichette and Kirk too early. But that's valid only if one expected in the 9th that it would go 18 or more, which no one did. It's just banter for the fans. You make decisions at the time they have to be made, to try to win right there, and if not you play on. It's baseball.

(no crap to you, NineOneSeven ) 🙂

Once that inning was done I tapped out. Didn't look at my phone and watched Innings 16-18 this morning.
I give anyone credit who stayed up for the entire game. I turned it off after 9 because I didn't have a stake in the game and it was already after 11:30 pm. Unbelievable pitching performance for both teams. Still don't have a stake in the game but very much looking forward to seeing what Babe Ohtani has going for him at the plate and on the mound tonight.

All the moves made sense except the Barger one in my view

Taking Barger out for Straw (a much weaker hitter) in a tie game doesn't make sense since Barger was due up again in 8th/9th and we knew the Dodgers were going to ride Sasaki to close. If you are ahead by a run that is fine, bring in slightly more speed and better range defender in Straw.

That was a move for a sake of a move. The others all made sense at the time - you go for the win late.

Taking out all the good batters. Straw for Barger is ridiculous. Little going two innings is basically surrendering the game… his control the inning he got away with… sending Davis with Vladdy coming out (third base coach error).

I was half asleep but was the Schnieder dead meat at the plate him running through a stop sign or just a horrific send by that 3B coach? It was even worse since Vlad Jr. was up next.

It’s unfortunate Springer got hurt because that was very impactful. Kirk getting pinch run for I see the logic but obviously you lost a critical bat after that. If you know the game is going 18, obviously you do it differently.

Were there any other choices in place of Little? It would have been Bieber right?

I am only going on what I’ve seen in the playoffs, but I don’t get the Straw for Barger swap either regardless of the situation. Is Straw really that much better than Barger on defense? Maybe a little more range? Barger has looked fine out there from what I’ve seen, has a canon for a right arm, and, of course, a much better hitter.

Both pitchers need to eat innings tonight. Normal circumstances I think that favors Ohtani but after last night, I don't see how he can do it.
