The poor Braves pitching staff… all five of the starting staff from the opening day roster is now on the 60 day DL. Talk about unfortunate.

hard to feel bad for a team that basically had a whole staff stay so healthy they had HOF careers and won about 20 yrs in a row.

What did i hear the stat about the Mets staff when they had noah and matz and the dark knight and I forget who else. That 5 man rotation actually made it thru the rotation like 1 time ?

Same with many pitchers - injuries derailed his career. Had thoracic outlet syndrome in 2016, was never the same pitcher after that.

Harvey testified in Eric Kay’s trial in 2022 that he started excessively using painkillers in 2019 - he’d already been a replacement level player for 3 years by that point. He also admitted to cocaine use from early on in his career, but the Matt Harvey drop off is mostly from injuries. He made a lot of stupid decisions from the start of his career to the end which didn’t help though. That story is an example of it - getting hooked on painkillers is one thing, becoming a dealer is a special kind of stupid. He’s hit the mark on “special kind of stupid” a lot.

Syndergaard is attempting a comeback this year, although it’s not going well. He joined the Charlotte Knights in July, had two starts so far with an ERA over 10.
