I know they want to get the game in under the circumstances, but this field for the Braves-Reds game at Bristol Motor Speedway is in no way playable.

Manfred's moronic decision to even try and play cost me a bet. I had the over 8 runs. If I'd been home the Turning Stone house rules would have given me a push as the game wasn't completed the same day. But I made the bet at Mohegan Sun and I guess their house rules keep the bet going in a suspended game completed the next day. Braves 4 - Reds 2

I’m good with eliminating the AL and NL now that both leagues are exactly the same. We’ve already had two teams switch leagues so it’s not like they are sacred.

No offense at all. Mariners have only made the playoffs 5 times in their history. Hopefully we can set the rotation with Woo, Gilbert, and maybe Castillo for the WC round. I like our chances in a 3 game series with those guys.

We've been below average on the road all year. 6 left for our last road trip against KC and Houston. 2 out of 3 vs the Stros would give us the tiebreaker.
Then home for 6 against the Rockies and Dodgers.

IMO, most teams would prefer to play the fading Red Sox over the streaking Mariners, especially since the Mariners look so strong on paper after the deadline.

After the deadline, many had Seattle as the AL Favourite (in a very tossed up playoffs) but for some unexplicable reason they went on a long struggle. Now that they are playing well, with their staff and deeper hitting lineup than normal I think most teams would rather face the Red Sox.

You have to add Texas to the discussion for the AL playoffs as they have streaking upwards in September and before today they were only 2 games behind all of Seattle, Houston, Boston. So it has become a 4 team for 3 spots. All those 3 teams were probably relieved to see Texas finally lose today to the Mets, but they are still hanging around (2.0 games behind Houston, and probably 3.0 behind Seattle and Boston).

The #1/#2 seeds seem to be somewhat secure with Detroit / Toronto in whatever order.
And New York seems to be in really good shape for #4 seed given their soft schedule. And with the soft schedule can't totally discount them from the #1/#2 seed line, but it will be very tough.

The rest is still fairly wide open.
