Nico Collins with a nasty concussion. The way the breaks are going for NE this season I expect them to get the Browns & Cardinals in the AFCCG/SB.

How did he get so bad? Some of those throws were of the gouge your eyes out variety if you're a Texans fan.

I know his WR core isn't great outside of Nico because the other guy is still out for the year from last year but man that was beyond brutal. If Collins is out for next week, Hou might have to win 6-3.

Stroud isn't THAT bad. He finished 11th in the league in QBR this season, and after one playoff game is 5th amongst the 12 playoff QBs in QBR. I would classify him as a middle-of-the-pack NFL QB right now.

I was thinking the same thing - wasn't he good just a few years ago?
I always have to see more than 1 year. Carr had an incredible season in Oakland, Tua a couple yrs ago, Daniels last year - he can still be good of course but some were premature to put in that elite tier. Maye seems legit to me but crossing my fingers he's one of those guys who will fall off, ha.

That is surprising. EPA I would guess is the bottom of playoff QBs, maybe ahead of Young & Hurts?
I've seen some OL metrics that rate them middle of pack (better than most people think) so I would think if the QB is a legit B- type, there's no reason they shouldn't be favored to win it all with that defense.

20th in PFF ranking. Only Rodgers was worse of the playoff QB’s.

I think Maye us unlikely to fall off like that but next year will tell a lot. The AFC East's cross over games are brutal (AFC West and NFC North) and the 1st place games for NE are Seattle and Pittsburgh.

Reminiscent of JB in the 2005 Vermont game. Sat back in zone and let Vermont bleed the clock every possession and shorten the game instead of going 40 minutes of hell to get Vermont out of their comfort zone.
Plus (and this really frosted me to the point I surrendered my “‘03 CHAMPS” license plate) if they had pressed, there would have been lots of TOs due to the dead spots in the floor.

Greg Roman is gone!
Maybe the Chargers can recover next year!

I know everyone has been banging on Tomlin for not winning in the playoffs in forever, but he's had 3 washed up QB's in old Ben, Russ, and Old Rodgers. It was a feat just getting there with the way each of those guys played.

As Jim Ross used to say "business is about to pick up" in the fall of 2026

A blank slate doesn't have to be a turnoff. Better than getting saddled with a mediocre player on a bad contract.
One great thing about the Steelers--you have an owner who is patient. If it might take a couple of years to get your program completely implemented, what better place to do it?

This Darnold oblique injury is interesting. If Drew Lock has to go that changes everything.
