2025 NFL Thread

In my opinion Polian looks worse than BB here.

Media voting for HOF's always has petty/crazy crap - see Andy Pettitte HOF vote going up while other HGH/Steroid guys are done.

Moral of the story - kiss the media's butt and wear a WWJD bracelet and you are in.

This was blatant cheating...they were paying him on the outside, with Real Estate and Supplements and lots of things. Circumventing the Salary Cap for a decade. This description of "Team Friendly" is not accurate, it was illegal. The NFL would not let Josh Allen take such a deal if he wanted to...(really, the Players Association, but same thing)

Was Tom Brady the highest paid QB during his New England Tenure?

No, Tom Brady was never the highest-paid quarterback in the NFL during his 20-year tenure
with the New England Patriots,. He consistently took team-friendly, below-market contracts to provide salary cap flexibility, which helped build a stronger, more competitive roster.

Key details regarding Brady's contract history:
"Hometown Discounts": Brady frequently structured his deals to allow the team to maximize its spending on other players, often ranking well outside the top 10 highest-paid QBs, particularly from 2014–18.
Lower Cap Hits: Due to frequent contract restructures, his salary-cap charge was kept below
$15m
million for 13 consecutive seasons ending in 2017.
  • Rankings: Even with extensions, such as in 2019, he was often ranked around 6th or 7th in the league for annual pay.

What about that time it was discovered PEDs were being shipped to the Manning home? Oh but they were in his wife’s name. Nothing to see there.

Check out the look on Mad Dog’s face. It has the gravitas of one involved in an animated discussion of geopolitical factors at play in the Russia/ Ukraine conflict. That or he’s channeling his best Kramer’s H.E. Pennypacker alter ego.

Just came from the game. Absolute brutal conditions. I’ve been to hundreds of games, that was the worst, between snow, wind, cold.

I guess I’m the only one on the planet that agreed to go for it on that 4th down in real time.
AFC chip, backup qb, pedal to the metal.

Also, the play was ruled incomplete pass, then we hear, “after a discussion on the field”. W the fuq??
If you're going for it there it has to be a better play call than that. Live time I was saying take the freaking points, and I wanted Denver to lose.

Been going back and forth between Seattle -4.5 and -5.0
I've got a nice middle to play. Have Seattle to win SB at 60-1 for a $1500 payout. I'm putting $150 on Patriots +4.5 and $50 on Patriots ML. If Seattle covers I still net $1300.

L think I saw today that Belichick and his gf broke up. She's probably disappointed she's not getting into the HOF.

MJ was never highest paid in the NBA until right near the end (even then I am not sure he was the highest)

I mean that's a different sport with different rules

Baseball also is a complete fiasco, just different. NFL rules exist for a reason, they were circumvented here by Commissioner Kraft
