2025 NFL Thread

I think you're right. Meaning that Hurts will have had a different OC every single year dating back to college. Of course, two of them got HC jobs in the NFL.

I also think they'll move on from AJ Brown. They won a Super Bowl with him, but he was invisible for most of today's game. Should get some decent value in return.
Agreed. I hope they can get value but I fear his dramatics will reduce his value to some extent. Also think that as Hurts' mobility diminishes each year it will make him less and less effective. He's had the benefit of the #1 OL for a few years now along with plenty of skill player talent and two solid OCs in Steichen and Moore. He's not good enough to really thrive without a high level supporting cast imo.

As an Iggles' fan, I'm relieved the season is over. The one constant most of the second half of the season was the turtle-shell offense the Birds went into during almost every second half. It was aggravating.

Not really disappointed, though. I jokingly gave them five years' dispensation after they won their first one. I did the same after last year's win.

I look for a lot of changes for next year on offense. Wouldn't even be 100% shocked if they traded Hurts as he was a key reason for the offense's stagnation. Plus, the right side of the O-line needs to be addressed with Lane Johnson's injuries catching up to him.

Do you buy into.the absurd speculation that siriani is in trouble?
I think Sirianni will be told he has to fire his buddy the OC. That will buy him another year at least but if the offense is still stagnant in 2026 then his seat could get kinda warm.

One of my pet peeves with Hurts is that, at least two or three times a game, he rolls out to the right, then throws the ball away. It never works when he rolls out that way.

It's like Ric Flair climbing up to the top rope--he always gets dumped.

JMO, but hard to judge anyone on the Eagles offense this year. No one was put into position to succeed including Saquon. NBC was laughing at the end of game play call. On top of that they ran hitch routes with WR’s 25% of the time this season and I think they ran into the line in just about every second and long in that game.

Agree 100%. They must improve the OL via the draft and FA. I think there is frustration with Hurts so a trade is possible but the cap impact might be an issue (don't know).

I feel similar re the outcome. I thought they'd win today but deep down I knew they weren't a true SB contender. Seattle would have crushed them and LAR would have likely beaten them too.

Yeah as I said above the OC was by far issue #1. But the falloff from last year is also due to the OL playing way below last year's level.

That kinda play calling has been going on all year long.

Why do these teams continually pass up points going for it on these 4th downs? Unless its less than a yard. Take the points.

Chargers need to fire their equipment dude - every time someone cuts, they fall down.

I can't really argue your point but the Philly play calling is enough to send an Eagle fan to an insane asylum. Running the play clock down to 0-3 seconds every down just shortening the game against an inferior opponent.
Reminiscent of JB in the 2005 Vermont game. Sat back in zone and let Vermont bleed the clock every possession and shorten the game instead of going 40 minutes of hell to get Vermont out of their comfort zone.

What a loss. Brutal stuff from Serianni/Hurts losing at home to a practice squad.
My Rams v Pats SB exacta looking pretty good so far.
Would have loved that Green Bay team to hold on last night so my 60-1 Seattle SB future didn't have to play in the round 2 vs a division foe. At least the Niners won today. Rather play them than the Rams.

The years Howie picked the OC the Eagles got to the Super Bowl.

Well this game's over. Time to turn this crap off and finish the Stranger Things finale.

He's a goner. Won't be long. I think all of Hurts' weakness were on display tonight. But the biggest issue beyond the OC is the OL. They played well below the level they played at in 2024 when they rolled on the ground nearly every game. That is a hideous loss.
The eagles OL looked great in the first half.

He missed throws so bad, I wonder if he reinjured his hand in the 1st qtr

He was way off on most throws - then suddenly on that 3rd down to Keeenan Allen he throws it 120 MPH from 7 yards away.

Then the next 3rd down to Allen short arms it when he's wide open.

That game sucked.
