Tonight’s game..8PM

The Northmen lose to the Lakers 8-7. The Northmen lead the series 3-2 with game 6 Wednesday night in Peterborough. Game 7, if necessary, would be Thursday night in Orangeville. In the other semi-final series the Toronto Beaches lead the Whitby Warriors 3-2 with game 6 also Wednesday in Whitby. For the Northmen, Trey Deere, Donny Scott, and Jake Spallina played but none of the 3 had a point. For Trey it was not a good game as he had a number of chances in front of the goal but could not score. Donny & Jake were good on Defense and Jake took the faceoffs.

As a note -- Jon Donville did the play-by-play on YouTube. He is normally the analyst but this was the first time I've heard him do the play-by-play. He was pretty good.

The Northmen lost game #4 4-3 in OT in Whitby. The Northmen led 3-1 with 34 seconds left in the 3rd period then the Warriors scored 2 goals at :33 and :23 to tie the game and then win in OT.

The Northmen won game #5 at home 4-3. Trey Deere 1g.

WOW! WOW!! WOW!!!

The Orangeville Northmen win the OJLL Championship and The Iroquois Trophy 4 games to 2 by beating the hometeam Whitby Warriors 8-7 in OT, the 4th OT game of the series.

Tonight the Northmen trailed almost the entire game and were down 7-5 in the last minute of the 3rd period and scored a goal with 26 seconds left and tied the game with :01 remaining. In OT Jake Spallina won the faceoff and they never gave up the ball, scoring the winning goal 28 seconds into OT.

Trey Deere had 1g, 2a and Jake Spallina took every faceoff. Donny Scott did not play.

The Northmen now go on to The Minto Cup in St. Catherines, Ontario starting on Saturday.
