Anyone interested in the game… NLL+ appears to be free
Yes it is free. You just have to create an account. plus.nll.com

Orangeville leads Coquitlam 11-3 after 2 periods of the first game of The Minto Cup. Trey Deere has 4 goals and the announcers are talking about him a lot. He's playing with an orange trimmed head on his stick. Jake Spallina is taking all faceoffs.

#44 Jameson Bucktooth playing for host St. Catherines Athletics. For the OJLL season he had 36g & 38a.

Orangeville plays the Raiders today at 4pm and St. Catherines Monday at 7:30p. Free on TV at plus.nll.com.

In their 2nd game of the 3 game round robin of The Minto Cup, the Orangeville Northmen beat the Raiders Lacrosse Club from Alberta 6-3. That clinches at least a berth in the semi-finals on Tuesday. They play their 3rd game of the round robin Monday night at 7:30pm vs. host St. Catherines. If the Northmen win that game they will clinch a berth in the best of 3 Finals starting on Thursday and have 2 days of rest.

Trey Deere had 1 goal and 3 assists.
Jake Spallina took all face-offs and won most of them.
Donny Scott is not listed on the roster and the announcers did not include him in the Northmen players who have been scratched. He might be injured.

The Minto Cup is the championship of Canadian junior A box lacrosse. I believe it includes players up to 21 years old. All games are available to stream free on NLL+ which can be found at plus.nll.com.

Tip - if you're a lacrosse fan and have never watched box lacrosse, it is a very fast paced game played with 6 players on a side including goalies. In Canadian junior box lacrosse they play 3 20 minute periods with 2 intermissions and penalties are similar to hockey.

Probably nothing, but thought it was interesting that Hansen Peck commented on this post with double Oranges. It’s a post featuring his old high school teammate Ayden Matthews who’s a class of ‘27 player. Peck might just be happy for his Orange teammates. Just thought it was worth pointing out …

Minto Cup Update

In their 3rd game of the round robin Orangeville lost to St. Catherines 12-10 in OT (they play a full 10 minute OT period). Trey Deere had 2g & 2a. Jake Spallina did not play. They missed him taking faceoffs as they lost the vast majority.

3 teams ended with a record of 2-1 but based on a complex formula that the announcers couldn't explain the Northmen move on to the Finals starting Thursday ight in a best of 3 series.

They'll play the winner of tomorrow night's semi-final game between St. Catherines & Coquitlam.

The rest of the games we be at 7:30pm on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and if necessary Saturday.
