2025 PLL Season

He knows Brennan O'Neill will draw the opposing team's best defender, leaving himself with a better matchup.

He also gets to play with his brother, I imagine that was a big draw. Also college teammate Wiskauskis. It sounds like the Redwoods were able to offer the most money, but he chose Denver instead.

Should be interesting, they now have four of the last six Tewaarton winners on the roster now. I am guessing they play Bernhardt at midfield?

gotta say coach Os defense has been pretty solid so far grant they do have a great kirst in net to help. Hope coaching in pll helps him grow to better coach n takes advice from people at that level n takes it all back to cuse to help the D improve more. Also hope it helps recruitment saying i coach in pll.

Hung onto the ESPN plus for a touch longer so I can actually watch these PLL games. If Denver ever figures out how to balance the talent they have they should be insane on offense. Bernhardt didn’t score but he makes everyone guarding him look silly with his speed. He will quickly bounce back and become one of the best in the league. One of the biggest cheat codes off the dodge that the sport has seen.

The waterdogs under Tierney have a really fun to watch offense. One of the few in the PLL that already seems to have good chemistry and spacing. And they don’t even have Kirst yet! I also really enjoy the chemistry between Asher Nolting and Ryan Drenner on the Cannons. The format itself is still a little flawed, and it feels way less serious than college, but the level of talent makes it worth a watch.

Damn. Dan Arestia just said on twitter that Tucker Dordevic has “medically retired” due to a severe jaw injury from last season. Devastating news for a guy who struggled so much with lower body injuries only to have a freak thing like this end his career early. Sad sad news.

What an electric career it was though. Insanely gifted athlete who was also an equally hard worker. I remember all the chirps he got early in his career saying he was a bad shooter. By the end of college he was hitting insane snipes with both hands including an entire year for us crushing it at lefty attack, and I believe he lead the PLL in two pointers at one point. That takes seriously focused work and commitment to achieve. He did not just sit on his natural athletic abilities and call it a day. He was always grinding to improve.

For better or worse college lax is the level that has the most resources behind it and demands the most of the players. Dordevic went hard and had a hell of a run during that time, along with his successful years in the PLL. Thank you for all the electric moments Tucker and don’t hang your head after an excellent career!

Im Pretty new to being a big lacrosse fan, how bad was it, because it has probably been 50+ years since the phrase "Career-Ending Jaw Injury" has been uttered about any pro sport.

The summer start time is probably the best thing the PLL has going for it for a TV viewing audience, since there is little competition from other sports this time of year. A lot of people who would not otherwise watch lacrosse watch it due to all the other major sports besides baseball and WNBA being out of season.

But the summer also kills the potential for a larger live audience for the games. Families are always taking their big vacations, going to camps, or spending time outdoors/at the beach this time of year. The heat in any even remotely southern location can be a real turn off for a full day of sitting in sunny bleachers.

Pros and cons for the summer start, but considering a spring start would force the choice between NLL and PLL, as well as limit the impact of incoming rookies fresh off their college season since they would only start playing well into the schedule, I would not be a fan. Those are big problems, along with your average joe choosing to watch NBA and hockey playoffs instead.

But if they start earlier they'd be competing with the college season. Are ESPN's PLL ratings better than their ratings for top college games?

In addition to avoiding the black hole that is the NFL, an earlier start to the PLL season would allow the league to barnstorm college campuses during the spring semester, when school is still in session and younger lacrosse fans are at their peak concentration.

Guessing they are less concerned with ratings and are trying to hook lax fans who tune out after Memorial Day.
