2025 Preseason Camp Thread

The new guy is meh. Taking about need to get under center and run the I or wing-t. Yeah ok genius.

Well, I'm an old school guy, too. I still think there's a place for the 2 RB formations in short yardage situations to make the play less predictable.

Jesus, why is the default he’s out the door? Where’s he going, UConn?

That crap by your supposed beat reporter is why I don’t like this guy.

What a dumbass! Anybody who watches SU football knows that in the last 10-15 years, we've had only 2 or 3 where the starting QB made it through the entire season without injury.

agree with all of this but if Angeli is successful this year, do you think Rickie stays around to be a backup again? I don't.

It depends on how he's handled. If he gets some decent game time, and can show maybe running skills that Angeli isn't as good at, then there's a path for him here.

And of course, every back up is only 1 snap from being the starter.

It becomes "how much a part of the team are you?" And it sounds like a lot of the guys on the team think Rickie is very talented. The coaches probably do, too. Let's hope for the best. He was the starter for all of Spring ball.

It always bothered me that DeVito quit in midseason when Shrader won the job, and then we had nobody when Shrader later got hurt. Not a team player. POS, selfish move in my opinion.

It appears that Angelli got some sound advice from McCord to get to know everyone on the roster ASAP. What’s even better is that Angelli took the advice and made it happen. That says a lot.

I like the girls. I think they're better than most of these podcasts, which I mostly find unbearable. These women at least sound like journalists, not kids who are players shouting hellos and flashing handshakes to each other for half the damn show.

What's confusing about it? Tons of people were always complaining year after year under HCDB that there wasn't enough info/video coming out of camp, but at least the reporters were there for the first 10 mins of practice. Now we barely get a 10 second instagram clip.

We have no idea which freshmen have surprised, which second/third year guys are stepping up, who's moving up and around the depth chart, who our starting OL is (or is shaping up to be).
I’ve been following every interview closely, and both the coaches and local reporters like Brent Axe have been pointing out which young guys are standing out. Several names keep coming up — Bryon Washington, Demetres Samuel Jr., Antoine, Boobie Johnson, Kam Pringle, and more — all of them making strong impressions in camp.

No practice yesterday.

but I need camp content!
