2025 Preseason Camp Thread

The newspapers two deep is what I sketched out for the most part. Only surprise is Bertrand as a starter

No Chris Thomas is a major surprise to me. He needs to play against Tennessee a lot. Monster run stuffer. Had over 50 tackles as a DT on a good Marshall team last year.

Anyone heard how he’s looked? I’m a bit concerned he’s not mentioned. We need serious beef up front with the schedule we play. I like Perry and Jobity but I don’t view them as guys that can stop the run

I see Jobity still playing one of the ends a number of snaps. I was also surprised by Thomas. Unless he is hurt I expect him to get at least 25 to 30 snaps a game.

It’s weird but I can’t remember him being mentioned for a really long time.

At least 6 DTs will play vs Tennessee. We will rotate to stay fresh. Unlike any other position, (especially for us, and especially this game) the depth chart doesn’t mean much. 50 tackles for a DT is huge. No way he doesn’t play a lot.

I think it might make sense to take what Javon says with a grain of salt. Especially after what happened with the starting QB job.

Not sure he is privy to any inside info and not sure his observation skills are great.

Yes, it could he Thomas has been a huge bust or it could he Javon just forgot about him. I am leaning towards the latter for now.

No doubt. However it just goes to show how poor of a job the local media is doing covering this team. All kinds of transfers and I feel like we don’t know much about them.

Javon is not good on the podcast either. He’s been driving me crazy

Javon made some comment on his show with Ace and Chris Carlson about how Angeli was named starting QB based on X number of plays he’s been a part of during real games. Horrible take. Just dumb.

I’ve liked him to date but I’m catching up on some listening and am a bit more wary after that and some other questionable comments. I’ll cut him some slack because we’re all climbing the walls waiting for some game action to actually talk about

His writing has been good. Some short profiles and features about Bryant, the OL transfers and David Reese. The podcast stuff I think too many media members go to "hot take" city or have trouble doing stuff in real-time and maybe get caught with a foot in mouth.
