2025 schedule

Whenever you can schedule a virtually guaranteed 2-2 start, you have to do it. can’t be undefeated going into conference play every year when you’re syracuse, that’d be too fun.

*Sarcasm*

Apparently Herm Edwards forgot (again) that there are no bonus points awarded for “degree of difficulty” of the non-conference slate.

If you’re offered the chance to play in a primetime slot Labor Day Weekend, you have to say yes. 75% of the teams in FBS who will never sniff that would die for it. Its amazing exposure for our program.
I’d rather have a free win honestly. Give me undefeated starts and bowl appearances to get exposure.

How much autonomy does Herm Frazier really have with scheduling games?
Isn’t Wildhack responsible for the games in Yankee Stadium and the high-profile matchups like that?
I feel like Frazier is like the Dutch kid who has to plug leaks with his thumb.

Dude playing Tennessee is the exposure.

I'm against all of you when it comes to this. Give me fun regular season match ups vs a bowl game where half the players sit.
Did playing USC back in the Barkley days give us any exposure that had any impact on the program? I just think “exposure” is overvalued. We play Clemson and FSU on ABC every year, they’re on the same level of not higher than Tennessee.

But we play them every year. OK I'll give you maybe not someone as good as Tennessee but give me a random P5 match up.

We had 4-5 years post scheduling to be aware of this.

We are a P5 team.

Every so often it’s ok to put out something demanding especially when we are getting p-a-i-d nicely to do the game in Atlanta.

We need to think like a winning program for time to time.

I would’ve liked to been a winning program at even a slightly consistent level before we started thinking like one. You get p-a-i-d for bowl games too and getting to those helps with recruiting. Put together multiple winning seasons, get recruiting up, then start scheduling the lower level “big boys”

Schedules aren’t done six months in advance. They are done years in advance.

I think the AD is allowed to set a higher bar scheduling every 5-6 years especially when there is money involved directly for the program in playing a neutral opener.

USC was a home-and-home that we sold our home game to Metlife. This is strictly a one-time neutral site game at least.

Hopefully with the rework of the ACC schedule it will make it less daunting than what it looks now.

I know how schedules work, I’d just prefer easier games against lower level P5 teams and collect the bowl game money. Easier games lead to easier wins which lead to bowl games which leads to better recruiting which leads to continued stringed together success. We don’t need money as much as we need to win. Give me all the cupcakes.

I'm all about scheduling for success but for crying out loud, this will be one of, if not, the spotlight game of opening weekend. And it will be year 10 of Dino, If we're not ready for this one game in year 10 of his tenure, when will we be?

I'd be as mad at ADJW if he turned this down as I am about moving the Pitt game.

That’s great, but truthfully what does being the spotlight game mean in the end? Being the talk of more water cooler conversations that week? When is the last time any program significantly had a boost from being the main attraction on opening weekend? When you’re sitting undefeated a month into the season people will start talking about you too, like we saw last year. Just win, boost your record, and string together winning seasons.
