Can someone tell me again why the ncaa did away with the 25-player limit on incoming recruiting classes? I mean with the portal, why would any team need 33 freshmen? Or 40 freshmen? Unless they’re just trying to make sure Georgia and Ohio State have their shelves stocked.

NCAA bowed to the wishes of the then-P5 because it feared the P5 would break off entirely.
