I wasn't able to attend today, but I remember last year coming away thinking we really could do something special with McCord. Not having Rickie is pretty disappointing, but glad they are being conservative.

My big takeaway seems to be kicker. Axe stated that even on his 43 yard miss, Tripp Woody barely got the ball to the goalposts. There is no way we can start a kicker who can't even reach for a 45 yarder. Along with the short kickoff concerns.

I watched him quite a bit. Some plays he just stopped guys in their tracks. Other times he looked slow and got beat. I know he's tall, but it looks to my uneducated eye that he doesn't get low enough to keep leverage. I don't think he's ready yet. That said, it's easy to see him as a monster in a couple years.

Him and Ross-Simmons are both about 6-3 220lbs and very physical.

Agree. We have a lot of weapons at wide out.

Agree. His conditioning needs some work too. Think he will get there though.

I honestly thought Williams actually hit his receiver on first watch, until I realized this was the defender. Not a great throw...hopefully Rickie is the answer

not having a kicker who can reach the end zone is concerning. Wonder if we will try to upgrade in the portal. Iowa kid also missed a 42/43 yarder with no pressure.

I thought the same thing regarding kickers not kicking into the end zone. I said it to my daughter, who really doesn't know a lot about football, and she said, "Maybe they aren't trying to so those guys can practice catching them." I think she's spot on. Fran got all over one of the returners early on because he didn't come up to field the ball and just let it roll around and tried to down it. With no guys coming down the field it looked like he just got lazy.

My point is, since not one kick made it into the end zone, it seems to me like they were working on something. I can't believe there isn't one kicker on the roster who can't get it to the end zone. And I'm pretty sure they were rotating they kickers.

With all these guys on the roster i still feel we are short on LB’s, RB’s. Sounds like Rickie is going to have to stay healthy. Center would be another position. Moving Petry there is one thing but i’m not sure if there is a natural center on the team.

He only throw two passes, one was way ow and the other was way past his receiver. The rest of the drive was mostly handoffs and a couple scrambles. No completed passes.

Didn’t see it but j wouldn’t be surprised if it had a lot to do with nervousness. His highlights seemed to show arm strength and accuracy as do his stats. And if it was just two throws. Eh.

Belin looked like a freshman, with two delay of game penalties. But when he was in he produced a big play through the air and with his legs. He will develop but probably won't be in the picture this year.

If I was a young student on the SU campus kinda struggling with the change from high school to college, mentally or whatever...for me it was drastic.
I would be calling HCFB, he is the coach for the football team & all the students.
Dude is it. We are very fortunate to have this guy.
Even with our... too soon to predict very tough schedule...for me to bet the under for wins itd have to be 8.5.
Actually 8.5 I wouldnt bet on either O or U.
5.5 is easy money...no bowl? LOL.

Losing the General Reed as our true center to USC really hurts but I am hopeful Petry will do well.

Agreed.. the true freshman QB’s have potential and a good upside but I keep reminding myself that they should be at their Senior Prom and are already on campus to put it all into perspective.

Kyle was there -- saw him walking to his car with his GF (he was coincidentally parked across from me). Wax and Barron were at the UFC fight with Garrett Williams. I didn't see OG. Meeks was on the sideline as was Fadil.

Had a chance to speak with both Trebor and Kyle. Two great kids. Kyle asked me what my favorite pro team was. My answer was whichever team drafts you. Great bunch of kids on this team.

Jakari looked the part of a D-1 QB. If Collins is clearly above him, then I think we're in good shape.
