The next question is at what point will people be able to login with their info and start to see parking availability and inventory has perhaps changed again and people will start to think about moving to other locations. I think we had this same discussion last year.

Not that they have a way to do it, but would people like to see it in real time once the process starts or only in some small window before their own time gets ready to kick in. Its not a huge deal to know days in advance, but if your lot is filling up days before you pick its better to know then finding out in real time and you have to call others in your group and try to make an on the fly decision.

Yeah. I'm either moving it all to the AD next year or just slashing donations altogether. Sigh.

Just curious, your added donation, where did you direct it to? Just because there are certain areas within athletics that when you donate to them, it does not give you points.

pts vs dollars matters. Much better to be a higher level than to have more pts. Even just jumping from 8 - 7 - 6 levels passes 3-4 thousand people and thats what, like $500 or so?

Almost all to the Lally fund

Yeah that would be why.

Pretty positive that doesn’t count to get points.

I would contact the university to verify. If it didn’t count you may be able to explain to them you didn’t know and you would have directed your donation elsewhere

I can second this, call your rep first thing tomorrow morning explain the situation, they will likely be able to help.

I live about 7 minutes from Manley.

Getting out of the lot after a game is a breeze, and I'm home in no time.

It takes forever to get out of the West lots, and I'm on the wrong side of campus.

Once I-81 starts to come down, it'll take forever + infinity to get home.

Depends on where you park in the West lots. If your in Fine/Henry or whatever the hell it's called this day it's actually not to bad same for Standart. If your in Raynor it can be a bit of a problem and the garages can be really bad. The best part of the West lots are you just crack a beer or two and rant about the game and within an hour or so it's clear sailing.

Actually all donations under the CAF award Priority Points. Donations directed to individual coaches’ funds do NOT credit toward giving level though. I believe the Lally Fund under CAF was established as a moderate level way to contribute to the capital building campaign for donors without the means to participate in the Legends Society channel. As such it is a directed contribution under the Athletic Directors discretion and logically should count for both. Most definitely priority points, but seems like giving level as well.
Not all reps are as well educated on the Donor Rank system as they should be. I would call the CAF directly to verify.

Does it need to be that complicated?

I worked with my account rep, gave to the CAF (generally) and got credit for both points and giving level. It appears that some of the restricted funds don't provide certain donors with giving-level credit (GLC). That might be the case because the gift isn't large enough for the donor to jump levels. It could also occur because: a) some funds don't qualify for tax exempt status; and/or c) the U doesn't want to extend GLC's to some funds for internal policy reasons.

It would help if the funds that are afforded GLC's were marked, although that might reduce contributions to non-credited funds. Either way - talk with your rep before you give.

I reached out to my rep. I am very uncertain based on the above. Needless, not expecting much to change.

got a call from someone at SU. they are going to try to reallocate some or all of my lally donations to a different fund that can help my rank. will see how it works out. thanks for the tip. still think its a convoluted mess that some things count and others dont and there is no clear indication which is which

yea, it's in the fine print and confusing. I've raised issues with it in the past so doubt anything will change, even though it's an easy and obvious fix.

What's even more annoying/confusing...from the actual page

HOW IS ’CAF DONOR RANK CALCULATED

’CAF Annual Membership Level

  • Required seat-related donation(s) included in any season ticket purchase (part of the ticket price)
  • Annual tax-deductible philanthropic donations to the Athletics Opportunity Fund
  • Legends Society donor gifts to the Lally Athletics Complex Fund
  • Capital Improvement Contribution(s) (tied to premium seating)

So like...SOME of the Lally donations count? Makes ZERO sense why some would count and others not.

I think parking selections starts today. I go tomorrow afternoon. I’ll update how the west lots look.

West Lots should be good through early next week (barring something crazy), after that it will get a little sketchy.

West Lots are still tag only.

The rest of the lots can be digital or tag -- fairly easy to pick between the two.

I forget what the upgrade options for seats looked like in the past but there seemed to be some good options for folks who want to change seats. I wasn't trying to change seats but still browsed around a bit and lots of good aisle options have opened up after the reseating.
