No, I mean people with a donor ranking of 5000. 4 yrs ago I was in Mt Olympus lot with a ranking of 5500.
Now 1500 couldn't get you in there.

If those 900 people have 3600 to 7200 tickets between them, the school doesn’t care where they park, just that those who have donated the most in this new environment get first dibs.

And resellers are not donating $5000 so they can swoop in on a couple of parking passes they can maybe get $300 for over six games.

If Ticketmaster opens a parking resale for SU football we all know what happened. Either SU or them had some agreement and bought up all the parking and plans to resale per game. But the physical pass would mitigate it while I’ve seen some per game printed pick up ones in west lot before.

Well I have been a football season ticket holder since 1996 and have always parked at Skytop. Taking the shuttle bus is a pain but I don’t really find it that much harder to get out of the city and home.
Lots of people do tailgates there,
Over the years I have gone to games with friends and parked in their lots a few times.
It was ok though I will never again go to that lot where you literally feel like you are climbing a staircase mountain to get to the dome. Awful!
But I agree that the parking system is broken. You should be able to renew your space.
Only after that should additional parking passes be available to new and existing season ticket holders.
I am still pissed that I was kicked out of my end zone seats after 28 years so the students could take over. Half the time my blasted seat wasn’t even used. My seat mate took pictures every game since we were third row.

Yeah i don’t mean it as a knock to those lots but when you can walk to the building for so many years then come this fall you have to take a bus it’s tough

I’m sure you can park there, but I doubt you’ll be able to walk up to the lots by going under I-81.

One of the issues with the West lots, and it’s not new, is that SU long ago stopped enforcing the student parking on game day. When I was a student in the 90’s and had a Standart parking pass, they were strict about making us move to Manley 4 hours before kickoff. Many a Saturday I had to get up early with a hangover and drive to Manley and bus back. If we didn’t, I learned week 1 that they issued a ticket I could not afford to pay.

I get to the West lot at least 4 hours before kickoff on gameday now, and it’s 1/3 full of student vehicles. None of them move, and the university clearly doesn’t care because they never ticket or tow any of them. There have been some games where I’ve seen West pass holders turned away because the lot was full, and I know a lot of the vehicles were students.

Maybe their solution was to drop the number of passes to reduce those “oversold” spots.

From a logistical and geographical perspective, how far is the stretch from the former ontrack rails to the Manley complex via e Colvin (or near abouts)?

Resurrect the ontrack. Build a spur along or near east Colvin to the athletic complex. Run LOTS of trains after games. May suck less.

I wonder if it is because it is law students who are grad students parking there now VS undergrads

Yeah I was contemplating being out BEFORE this all went down now not being able to park where I and we all have for over 20 years being a part of the amazing tailgate

Because of things like this, and especially the NIL/portal reality in combination with some other life issues (The new administration nuking my insurance program so need to come up with an additional $20,000 next year as a self-employed small business type causing the need for a major retooling, maybe even ending our 35 year run), anyway it all contributed to me pulling back as it was so my six season tickets were going to go down to zero with maybe attending a game or two, this after 55 years of intense loyal “fandom”.

THEN Fran Brown and his press conference talking about losing Trevor Peña where his reach out to his fans made it feel like he was talking to me directly expressing his love for all things Cuse, us included asking us to hang in there, Etc. Thought how can I not support this guy.

So I decided to stick with two season tickets of the six, make a few games selling the rest. And now THIS. Between life/business stuff, and now entertainment stuff here i’m thinking I’m not gonna look fondly back at 2025.

This is so typical of Syracuse University and the way they treat their fan base. Zero chance of taking the bus back-and-forth from Manley having done it for basketball It completely sucks.

I think the downtown scene is going to be resurrected with tailgates and shuttles up which, for some reason are way more tolerable to me and likely what I’ll do for the games I hit.

But if or when Fran Brown is gone, I am likely gone as well with all these logistical hassles they place in front of us. Completely understand Cuseguy‘s reaction as well as some others.

I think it’s the Hotel with a bus. Or the quad/miron pregaming (which I think is part of the subtext here). The walk from the armory or war memorial wasn’t too much even 5 yrs ago, But that ain’t happening now. If Meirs creek is doing it that’s a possibility

I've been there plenty of times early on the one mentioned spot. And it is usually sparsely populated... Yes there are offenders, but there has never been a parking issue for those with sold passes I've seen at all in the last 4-5+ years of the mentioned.

Carry 100lbs uphill bothways in winter 600 feet. that is how far it is, and then double or tripple it. No walk to school in the 1980's without a bus and live Solvay.

As you know I've been back and forth on this with SU. They're aware of the concerns but have a much bigger picture in front of them than STH parking. Long term, the writing is on the wall for West Stadium parking (at least for sports and public events). In the meantime, maybe the 'Cuse Council people can get some intel on the U's post-West Stadium plans. I got my pass last Friday, but it seems like capacity is reduced for Henry. That or maybe they're just being more realistic about what they've reserved for students and staff.

I'd be interested to know where they plan to put us.

Let me know the google transit pattern for carrying 100lbs, parking, and where you can legaly do it with. I forget, get it back there too and with a vehicle or anything else but your own person.
