As a former defensive wizard at first base, I'll say they're not doing him any favors.
That said, he's not doing his first basemen any favors either. Short arming routine throws. If it's a more difficult play, he seems to make a good throw. Stops and thinks too much on the easy ones.
The first baseman should pick a lot of these, but at some point...he's making so many bad throws that they have to be on edge too. These are very EASY throws he's putting in the dirt.
