Great questions! Have to wonder if GMAC was against overloading the schedule. And wonder what the financial terms are of the Providence and Indiana games.
Players Era is a quirky format. Trying to make it a “tournament “ and adding the point differential component wasn’t the best move IMO. Call it a Festival with multiple eight team tournaments might be a better approach.

No way Gmac caused the change and SU managed to schedule IU and PC that fast.

The NCAA rule is that you're allowed to take a foreign trip every 4 years.
