I know, I know, stars don’t matter.

But also shut up, cause they kinda do.

As much as they are an unreliable and nebulous metric, fraught with the funk of an industry with incentives that aren’t aligned with objective evaluations - getting 4 and 5 star kids on campus (and especially committed) is nothing but a good thing.

Having said that, for my own curiosity I wanted to see a tally of how many 4 star and 5 star kids we are getting OVs from in the 2026 cycle.

And because you can’t stop me, I thought I’d share it with you.

Visitors:

J’Vari Flowers, CB, FL (reclassified from 2026 to 2025)
4 Stars, and #82 nationally per 247.

James Johnson, DL, FL
4 Stars, #61 nationally per On3

Andre Clarke, S, VA
4 Stars, #170 nationally per On3

CJ Hester, S, FL
4 Stars, #219 nationally per On3

Terry Wiggins, LB/EDGE, PA
4 Stars, #225 nationally per 247 Composite

Jaydin Broadnax, S, FL
4 Stars, #297 nationally per On3

Gavin Sidwar, QB, PA
4 Stars, #322 nationally per On3

Tedarius Hughes, S, FL
4 Stars, #305 Nationally per On3

Elijah Littlejohn, LB, NC
4 Stars, #311 nationally per On3

Javeion Cooper, OL, FL (Commit)
4 Stars, #301 nationally per 247

Jarius Rodgers, EDGE, FL (Commit)
4 Stars, #271 nationally per On3

So that is 11 visits with 4 stars set up, with a likely visit from 5 star WR Calvin Russell + other high quality visitors likely to be added.

This doesn’t mean I all of a sudden have faith in the star system, but it does mean that I am very excited about the direction the 2026 class is heading.

If I'm missing any, let me know and I will put back on my orange tinted glasses and update the list.

That's a great list, Steve! And Calvin will be visiting; I haven't seen a date yet, but it's happening. I'd also add in, among others, DB Ayden Pouncey (June 6 to June 8), QB Brodie McWhorter (April 15 to April 16 and May 30 to June 1), WR/athlete Davion Brown (I believe May 31 to June 2), and RB Rayshawn Duncan Jr. (June 5th).

Hoping that they all make the visits is the key! It looks like the staff has done a better job overall of getting some of these high in demand guys scheduled for officials earlier (weeks 1-2 of OV month). Last year we had a ton of 4 star caliber guys scheduled for weeks 3-4 of OV month and majority committed or visited elsewhere last minute and never made it to campus.

It seems like the staff probably has longer/better relationships this cycle considering they have had more time to develop those relationships than with the ‘25 kids.

4 and 5 stars may not matter, but I want as many of them on our team as possible.
