They used the injury aspect quite a bit to justify SMU... not something they historically do much for at-larges, but a justifiable choice.

I can see how Florida and Vandy could work.
The rule used to be top 3 teams from each conference have to be in different regions.
And Vandy is possibly #4 in the SEC.

But it must no longer be a rule.
I guess they went all in on location.

I still think this tourney is Duke’s to lose. I like Scheyer and would be fine with it. Just ANYTHING except UConn.

I'm not sure if this region is that much tougher than the others... eyeballing it certainly does. But that could because the historical name power 1-8 in the East is pretty crazy.

Yeah. I can't quite wrap my head around Purdue leapfrogging everyone from a 7th place finish in the B10 to a 2 seed, due to a conference tournament win - versus what happened with St Johns.
