2026 Potential Roster / Portal Entries

Be careful, Comstock came here to fight the Angeli hype and kick tail, and he's almost out of Angeli hype to fight.
Kicking tail and taking names. For the record I fought the hype on Collins and said don’t get excited, he reminded me of another SEC transfer, Del Rio-Wilson, and got slammed. Turns out I was right.

Meanwhile, Angeli was good in his 4 games and you are constantly sh**ing on him. Congrats, you’re wrong here, offsetting your brilliant Collins analysis

I’d trim the DL budget.

The more I think about it Nixon as OC is a must next year. We have no talent on D. Even with a competent DC we will be in the Top 60-75 range. So we need the O to carry us. Nixon gives us the best chance of that.

We need to hammer the portal for D lineman, I would be scouring the country and overpay a bit at the expense of other positions if need be, we absolutely can not be this bad at Dline again. I’m confident QB will take care of itself, but this maybe the worst Dline I have seen in my 27 years of being a season ticket holder.

Syracuse, N.Y. — Three of Syracuse’s top young defensive players said they will return to the Orange in 2026 following Saturday’s season-ending loss to Boston College.

Freshman linebacker Antoine Deslauriers and sophomores Chris Peal and Jamie Tremble all confirmed their plans to return, giving the Orange more cornerstone pieces for next year’s defense.

Good news. It’s a short list but the main guys all seem to be coming back. Now fix both lines and get new coaches on the OL and D coordinator

I wouldn’t care if the only offensive position we spent $$ on is QB, and center, the rest of the NIl budget goes to Dline and at least one proven linebacker, expensive for sure but absolutely a necessity!

I don’t think that is too far off. Skill positions are fine minus backup QBs. D line HAS to be totally overhauled, OL needs more than just a center

a question about the NIL budget. If you are a major individual donor, say kicking in $250k a year, and fran comes asking for more money to help get some linemen. Are you really going to give him more cash after this debacle of a season? I can almost understand 3-9 with a tough schedule but it was the way we got there and they team absolutely following their coaches and mailing the last two months in.

We have key pieces saying they’re coming back, however, until the portal closes there are no guarantees.
If the players do stay next big issue is to replace a number of coaches. At this point I would say the entire D staff. The scheme is bad. Tackling has been bad for two years. Wr were running wide open. Coverage was bad. New players may help but without better coaching it won’t matter.
On O we need a new Oline coach and rb coach. I know Nixon is the rb coach but I see all these other teams affectively running the ball but not us. I know a lot has to do with the Oline but it’s more than just poor blocking. I remember early on Adazzio (sp) mentioned how Willis was running to upright allowing him to be stopped. He sees this while watching a game and our coaches cannot make the corrections all season.
Adding qb depth is a must.
Fran will go and get the players the real question is will he be able to make the necessary coaching changes including his friend.

Agree with all this, the defense was a disaster, even taking into account how hideous the offense was, because it was bad last year when we had an excellent offense. Clean house on that side and 100% get a new OL coach. A new RB coach would be good and I think we need a bit of portal help at the position
