Jayden James is definitely a name to watch. He was handed down the #3 from Figueiras as a freshman starter at St. John’s. To start as a freshman in the WCAC, let alone for Top 10 team against a national schedule is absurd. Jayden is Native American & has starred for the Haudenosaunee Nationals & USA Select teams as well as on the club circuit.

It was mentioned on here last year by DMVCuseLax that Jayden is “all ‘Cuse”. With the Promise Scholarship & the chance to learn under Fig for a year before potentially becoming the first Native to wear #11 (at least since Panarelli started the tradition of it being the defensive equivalent of #22), he’s looking like the possible headliner of what should & needs to be a big ‘26 class for SU.

Here’s his full write-up from the article:

“The No. 1 close defenseman in the class, James is a 6-2, 180-pound lefty who’ll venture out to the parking lot to cover his man if need be. He’s not afraid of throwing checks and finds a way to put the ball on the ground a lot. James will be a four-year starter at D.C. powerhouse St. John’s and he’s already been tasked with covering everyone’s best attackman. James had a terrific showing this winter with Hilltop at IMLCA, and guys know to avoid him.”

Here are some highlights for #10 Hunter Metz:

He actually had 60 points on the season.

Syracuse needs to call when it's time. His sister is also at Syracuse.

I can’t fathom why they wouldn’t. He’s camped at SU as well. There was a photo posted somewhere on here a year or 2 ago of him in either The Dome or Ensley with Fig & Trujillo. Being their #1 defender, I’d imagine he’s gone up against Duenkel regularly in practice. Iron sharpens iron.

money3189, any insight into ‘26 LSM Ashton McNair? Looks like he put up pretty good stats at Spencerport HS as a sophomore in ‘23 prior to re-classing at Loomis Chaffee this year. You’re obviously extremely plugged into the Rochester HS scene so I figured I’d test your knowledge of the suburbs. :)

Good player, but not Syracuse level.

Peck kid is from upstate - lacrosse hotbed of Schuylerville. He’s a reclass. Mom was an Olympic speedskater.

I’d keep an eye on Cornell.

crazy how much he’s blown up. The ninth grade brother is the next one to watch he’s good. Schuylerville is also sending a kid to LeMoyne next year.

Crazy to see Marcellus of all section 3/upstate there.

His teammate & fellow ‘26 M Chris Doshna should make this list as well. The Donahue family has made a HUGE impact on Marcellus youth/HS Lax ever since purchasing The Ultimate Goal indoor complex in 2017 & you’re starting to see the results. Collin Donahue (SU ‘12) is the HC at Marcellus & his brother, ‘Cuse legend Dylan, runs Sniper School Training out of the facility. The Marcellus girls team has a Top 50 national ‘26 in Cece Powell (not related to the Carthage Powells) as well as a few others who will go D1.

Would love to see Rayfield in the Dome and hope Cuse is after Conway-Reppert as well from the new batch that I know of.

Conway-Reppert is interesting. Really good player with slick skills from the little I know about him but his size is a concern. Apparently he was hurt most of this past season.
