2026 Recruiting

Welp, never mind on Ivancevic. That wraps up the IL top 100. Curious if SU tries to grab another pole, or just waits things out. There are two four star long sticks that are uncommitted, Barrett Carter from Culver and Spencer Spallone from Midwood, NY.

Syracuse is ranked fifth by IL right now. Only a few four stars are on the board, the most recent have been committing to schools like High Point, Fairfield, Air Force and Villanova. No disrespect to those players/schools but I'd be surprised if the remaining recruits changed the rankings all that much.

Good haul for the Orange overall. I'm a bit surprised they didn't bring in one or two more guys (especially long poles), but I think that it's better to keep the class small if you aren't getting the guys you really want (especially if the roster cap happens). Perhaps the only player I'm disappointed they didn't land is Chris Doshna, but grabbing Harry Schniedwind seems like pretty good compensation (ranked higher by IL, and his defensive ability sets him apart). Obviously these rankings will change quite a bit in the next few years, but this is a group to be excited about.

SU will likely add another player or two. Be it a flip or late pick up from a guy who blows up etc. Pole and FOGO being the two to watch.

Rutgers just got a commit from ‘26 Finbar Malloy out of Fairfield Prep (CT). I’m posting this because I didn’t want a name like Finbar Malloy to go unnoticed.

Other Origin(s):Gaelic
Meaning:White or fair head
Boasting an irresistible Irish charm and a sense of Celtic mysticism, the name Finnbar makes for a timeless choice. Masculine and of Irish origin, Finnbar can be spelled in a variety of ways, including Finbar or Finnbarr. It is derived from the Irish fionn, meaning “white” or “fair,” giving it the definition of “white or fair head.” Finnbar found quite a significant place in Irish history and folklore and was borne by St. Finbar, who happens to be the patron saint of County Cork in Ireland. In Irish folklore, Fionnbharr is believed to be the king of the fairies, sure to keep a sense of magic around baby as they journey through life.

Sounds like Gait might have been with a recruit at the Miami game this past weekend
Someone posted a photo of Gary in the new Miron Victory Court pregame.

I’m assuming since this was posted in the ‘26 thread that it wasn’t Filardi or Wyatt Bowman?

I hope the staff continues to recruit & push hard to flip Doshna until the day he signs. One of my favorite ‘26s, he’s going to be an absolute monster by the time he hits college. Physically, he reminds me so much of Pat Hackler &, going back a bit, former UVA star Chris LaPierre with, in my opinion, a much higher ceiling on offense than both.

Pure speculation: Maybe Ethan Bramoff & family were in town visiting his mother’s parents for Thanksgiving lol. I just can’t help but think that he’s going to watch Billy Dwan continue to score highlight reel goals over the next 2 years & envision himself doing the same. He & Jayden James together could be like Beardsley playing alongside Joel White.

Pure, much less “pipe dream” speculation: It was a Canadian stud that Gary discovered at the U-20 tryouts that nobody has heard of yet.

Not sure! I put it in here as I wasn’t sure if 27s can be visiting campuses yet so figured it had to be a 26

SU was very involved with Bramoff right to the end and was close to landing him. One of those recruitments where they just came up short, it happens unfortunately. I know SU has a spot or 2 left so having someone on campus would not surprise me.

I think Doshna flipping is unlikely, I think both sides went in different directions pretty early in the process. Think Bogue Hahn but in reverse.

Bramoff has been very injury prone in his high school/club career. I think that trend continues and we'll be lucky that we didn't land him (at likely a full scholarship).

Heard a nasty story about something involving Bramoff and a golf cart at youth tournament this fall that was pretty scary stuff.
