2026 Schedule Tidbits

that's pretty interesting, psu probably hasn't played an acc for a decade since the b1g was formed. juiced their schedule with ivies and it's mostly worked out whenever they've had a good year. guessing tambroni-petro connection made it viable to get done.
The Crown is organized by former Team USA & Penn St player, Chris Schiller. I believe PSU has played in this event more than anyone else from the D1 ranks.

Lol right on schedule Hobart fans complaining about Cuse not scheduling them. Maybe it's the SLU alum in me affecting my bias but my god I can't stand that fanbase.

So if the following rumors are true, the schedule would look something like this. No idea if this is really feasible. It can't, can it? IL Preseason ranking in paratheses.

Home: Maryland (1), Georgetown (5), Duke (11), UVA (13), Boston U (16), St Joe's (NR), Colgate (NR)
Road: Princeton (2), Notre Dame (6), UNC (8), Hopkins (14), Harvard (15), Penn (NR), Denver (NR), Air Force (NR)

That's a 15 game schedule even before the ACC tournament. That's not even taking into consideration a game vs Cornell (4) which I have to assume will happen this year (fingers crossed at least). I feel like nyclax has to be correct, the Ivy League games vs Princeton and Penn have to be for '27 ... right?
No Hobart, No Army, No Cornell. Colgate the only NY team on the schedule. Harvard, Penn and Princeton, win them all and we could be Ivy and ACC champs this year.

on twitter? link?

He likely means fanlax though I don't see anything about it today.
On Twitter there is this 1 guy who is responding under like everything asking why they arnt playing Hobart, on a side note the army fans are also being a little obnoxious

I guess "complaining" might be a stretch but there is definitely a connotation with the "..." at the end. They were complaining on fanlax a few weeks ago though. Very strange fan base.

Did you forget to log in under your other Hawknate screen name?

Cuse game is a big one for the Hobart fanbase. I can understand them being upset its not gonna be happening for at least the next few years if not more. I read some of the fan lax stuff and several understood it was because they were failing to hold up their end with their record and RPI etc. I do hope the game comes back it's usually entertaining and winning at Hobart is always fun.

Army is a mutual decision due to the inability to find a date that works. From what I know getting a date that worked was becoming harder and harder and moved from the weekend to mid week and Army wasn't a fan of playing the game later in the season and Cuse didn't' want to jam the game in Mid week in early February. I suspect they will eventually start playing again but Gait has definitely taken a more stern approach on Scheduling then Desko did. Teams like Hobart and Albany have become victims of SU trying to schedule better RPI wise but also demanding dates that work best for SU.

so the story with that is that Hawknate2 is from when the site went down and had the big-time erase for a week because it deleted my account, it also somehow became the account on my phone, it didn't start out as intentional and I should probably get my phone switched over to this one, but I haven't had time to.

I certainly hope so, I watched Desko schedule like this with mixed results. Your right the RPI boost should be significant and SU has the Sr laden team and depth that should be able to handle it. I do personally like to see a gimmie game or 2 on teh schedule, allows some of the backups in and can be a re-start if the team is struggling a bit.
Agreed. I don’t think having a couple fluff games is what killed our RPI/tournament seeding. It was losing too many games in the regular season. That 0-3 stretch of Cornell Duke and UNC had us on the ropes. That stretch is where Hiltz started playing through an injury, along with Rhoa Leo and Dwan having questionable health. It is also when we lost Levine.

Several weeks in a row without any sort of break can take a toll. If every rumor about the schedule is true there could be multiple tough stretches like that. Our depth has potential but is a little unproven right now. Hopefully we stay healthy. I like that we are eliminating the next level fluff and replacing it with decent competitive opponents (BU and St. Joes instead of Jacksonville UVM and Manhattan). But I am a little torn on keeping MD while adding GTown and Princeton, if that turns out to be true.

If there is no Cornell on the schedule (at this point it seems like it would be incredibly hard to find a date for them), Princeton seems like a like for like replacement. It really sounds like Gtown would be replacing a team like Towson. Obviously that’s a big leap given what the Hoyas bring back, but it’s not totally crazy.

Now if Cornell is on the schedule, that does seem like crazy town.

On another note, I think SU announced Delaware would be on the 2025 schedule this time last year, and they were replaced by Manhattan. Just something to keep in mind.

Yeah I am kind of assuming we still play Cornell. We just have no reason to take them off, unlike Albany and Hobart where you can say RPI is a factor.
