2026 Schedule

In my head OE is RIP.

OX is the weirdo.
Who you calling a weirdo?

I guess Stanford believes Indiana in Nov is just too cold, as John McKay thought it was.
ND just played at Stanford in November, 2025. It is Stanford's turn to play at ND.

Neither Stanford nor USC ever wanted to play at ND in November so both play/played at ND in October each year.

Syracuse tries to avoid mid October home games for Jewish holidays, their not gonna be able to avoid the second week of the season as well. As Tom noted I suspect week 2 will be a home game be it Fri or Sat.
That is when the holidays are this year. They are early. They don't use our calendar. No mid October holidays this year. This is the holiday and the week after that they try to work around. Maybe a Thursday night game?

Yup it would make sense to have week 2 and 3 potentially be conference road games or a road game and week 3 bye which wouldn't be ideal.

Yeah November in South Bend...no thanks 😆

agree, i'm guessing that's what they would do here. wouldn't impact student attendance.
With Rosh Hashanah so early this year, I would guess less students than normal would probably go home. It’s literally the third weekend of the semester I think. I know when I was a student, I probably wouldn’t have gone home for the holiday if their was a Syracuse Football home game, though I don’t think that conflict ever happened when I was there and I’m not your average fan based on my presence here lol. Also, not being in Syracuse anymore, when a Syracuse football game overlaps a holiday even a Jewish holiday, the Syracuse Football game becomes part of the holiday. If it’s a night game overlapping Rosh Hashanah dinner, the game is on in the background. If it’s a nooner and we’re in synagogue, I will leave synagogue early. I guess a 3:30 kickoff is ideal as it would sandwich synagogue and dinner which lineups for the ideal tailgate times, we all win in Syracuse and outside Syracuse lol.

Thursday could absolutely be in play

Football weather. 23 degrees with a slight breeze and snow is a perfect game to attend.

Just bring your own anti-freeze.
You should have come to a game in 59 at Archbold in late November. Started Sunny and not bad temperature wise but it drizzled, rained and finally snowed. I was 13 at the time, and the wind in Archbold was miserable on that day. Great game but not for fans, had to thaw out at home.

Has anyone starting cross referencing our opponents' schedules to narrow down possible dates for games?

I suspect we are going to play Cal early because they have played an away game against an east coast type ACC team in September their first two seasons in the ACC.

i ihink they want one relatively early to reduce the effects of travel on the team somewhat.

I am not Jewish. If llandz says Friday night 9/11 is the worst time to play a home footballl game as far as Rosh Hashanah is concerned, I believe her. Also saw BC just moved their football game against Rutgers from 9/12 to 9/11. So at this point, I am thinking we play Cal or another ACC team on our home schedule Saturday night or just or play an away game on 9/12 against an ACC foe. I guess we could playThursday night as well but Thursday games are usually scheduled after byes.

We know it won’t be BC we play 9/12 (see above). Best case scenario for me is to play Cal here on Saturday night 9/12 and at Pitt Friday 9/18 or Saturday 9/19. I checked and the Pirates are in town the whole weekend, so a doubleheader is doable. The football and baseball facilities are next to each other as well.

I am sure it won’t happen but a man can dream.

Great stuff!

I assumed weekend of 9/11 would be a lock for a home game.
