2026 Spring Football Schedule/Spring Game

everybody loves raymond my posts GIF

I won't. Letting him play hoops was part of why he signed with SU. It seems that maybe it could've waited until next year but kids don't want to wait for anything.
Yep anyone who criticizes Fran for letting Calvin play both sports is a fool. It helped him come here and without Fran we had zero shot of ever getting him. Just terrible. We have talent at WR but it’s young, Calvin is young of course but crazy talented. I’m not tossing the season out by any means, I feel terrible for the young man

Also, the injury has nothing to do with him playing basketball. It actually mitigates the risk being a multi sport athlete.

Yep. Of course we want our 5 star kid out there but true freshmen WRs often don’t make big impacts. At least that is how I'm rationalizing this
He can use this year to get bigger and stronger, study the game, and really lock in on his footwork. By the time he comes back next year, he could be an even more polished and technical player. I’m not saying this is a good thing at all, but I’m just trying to look at it with a glass-half-full mindset.

Rumors on X going around about a major injury that happened during camp. Any truth to this?

Edit: Apparently they’re saying Calvin Russell tore his achilles

People saying this is the “worst possible scenario”…I mean yeah, for Calvin but for the team? I’d think losing AD or Samuel or Angeli would be a bigger nightmare. It’s awful, and it would have been awesome to watch him this year but by no means moves the needle in the w/l category significantly.

Tough injury. Our WR room is good but not great.

Brutal. Never want to see this- maybe the only thing to be grateful for is it happened in the spring so there is time to figure things out for the staff vs having it happen in fall camp. Still what a massive blow…
