2026 Spring Football Schedule/Spring Game

This was posted a week ago by SU. The Spring offensive MVP was Umari Hatcher. Congrats to him man. He looks healthy and explosive right now. Seems like it may finaly be his time. Everything looks like it’s clicking for him. And then Darien Williams was the Spring DART award winner. This WR room is going to be solid and deep, even without Russell.

Gemaus Sackie, Spring Defensive MVP?!? Wow. A 6’-0” 210 lb true freshman LB. I really liked his recruiting highlights and thought he would be good but that was still unexpected. Thought he’d need at least a year to get a little bigger etc. So what does this mean? Does he earn significant PT? If so where does he play?

If I had to guess he'll probably be a special teams contributor next season and will grow into snaps at linebacker the following seasons.

Ziyyon Bredell, the redshirt freshman 6'-0" 185 lbs DB was named specials MVP of the spring by the way.

So does Sackie just get snaps only on specials? What does MVP mean for these awards? Just worked the hardest??? That sounds more like the DART award. if so, then maybe he only gets specials snaps. But to me MVP has always meant the best overall. If it means he was the best overall on defense in the spring, which is hard to believe, then he is obviously getting more snaps than specials in 2026.
