playing bball doesn't mean he isn't conditioning and getting shape for fball.
Rob Harris, basketballs S&C coach, previously was the S&C coach for Arkansas football as well as an assistant S&C coach for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Harris, in cooperation with the football S&C team can easily keep Calvin Russell on the proper workout program through the end of the basketball season.

Team is getting BIGGER FASTER AND STRONGER

Great video. I also frequently see the young men posting stories on instagram working out on their own in the indoor practice facility. Usually super early in the day and sometimes late too. Have heard some of our leaders are helping to organize and get guys together as much as possible.

If it isn't asking too much, who are we looking at as "our leaders" this year?

I thought the coaches were not allowed to work with the players off-season, that it was only S&C folks who could.
I wondered the same. From AI:

"Yes, college football coaches can be present during winter weightlifting and conditioning workouts
, but NCAA rules restrict their ability to provide direct, hands-on technical or tactical skill instruction, focusing instead on supervision and encouragement. Strength and conditioning coaches often run these sessions, which are limited to 8 hours per week of required, non-skill, in-season training.
Key rules regarding winter workouts:
  • Presence and Supervision: Coaches are allowed in the weight room to oversee, encourage, and monitor safety,, according to Reddit users and ESPN.
  • No Footballs: While coaches can lead conditioning, actual footballs or specific skill-position drills (like throwing or catching) are generally prohibited in, as ESPN reports.
  • Time Limits: Student-athletes are limited to 8 hours per week of required weightlifting, conditioning, and film review outside of the playing season, notes the University of Idaho.
  • Staff Roles: Strength and conditioning coaches are primarily responsible for these, and they focus on physical development, discipline, and, in some cases,, as noted by EliteFTS."
