2027 Recruiting

The Best in Class IG account just posted Quincy Quillard as one of six stand outs from their 2024 showcase in prep for this year’s showcase. What stood out was how they talked about his offensive prowess. I say this as I assumed he was coming in as a SSDM due to his athleticism, but curious to watch him more now and see what he further brings on the offensive side!

new IL tournament team, here's the uncommitted guys.

A Huntley Walsh from McDonogh (Follows a few SU guys on social media, not just the McDonogh guys either, plus the main account and Coach O, we aren't on his Interested List, but still a name to watch for a late flip or something if he blows up)

A Blake Jenkins from Hudson Ohio, can't really find any social media for him, lists himself as caring about grades, looks like a good player, but not confident we have any connection to him.

A Bowan Ireland from St Christophers in Virginia, first player on here with a star ranking, its 3 stars no real connection I can find.
M Dean Chuisano from Don Bosco Prep, no real online presence I can find

M Dylan Gilp from Our Lady of Good Council in Maryland, no real connection

SSDMs Kyle and Ryan Archer from St John's in DC, both 3 stars, have connections to Figgy and Jayden James from HS, but are otherwise pretty private on the internet.

LSM/D Jace LiVigni from Milton Academy, plays box in the winter, no concrete connections to anywhere

D Miles Donahue from Holderness in NH, 4 Star who follows SULax, enjoys Skiing, from Maine and plays in NH, whether spending his entire life in snow helps or hurts our chances is up to you, out of everyone uncommited on this list, he's probably the one I want the most.

D Luke Donnellan from Deerfield, 3 star with a good number of instagram connections to SU, lists himself as a High Academic guy who likes Economics, so I wont hold my breath on him, based on that profile, im thinking Penn.

D Charlie Tennille from Boys Latin 3 star, follows SULax

G Holt Farver from St Albans, 3 star, we arnt taking another class of 27 goalie, also no connections.

SU likely plans to hit the portal hard next spring/summer but takign another attack recruit in this class would also be a great idea. Marechek contiues to stick out like a sore thumb.

According to IL, there are only five uncommitted four stars (four defenders and one midfielder - Barrett Mullaly who is ranked 88th and is the only Top 100 player who hasn't chosen a school). Perhaps schools don't view these players the same way the recruiting services do? Or maybe they really just need to take their time to decide.

To Jeremey's point about the portal, I have to imagine that is part of the plan for the Orange. Or maybe they are waiting a bit to see if any players emerge over the spring high school season? SU did just bring in three "off-cycle" recruits this summer, plus the flip from BU. It feels like if teams miss out on their top target, they may want to wait and see, rather than take in a player they are not totally sold on? These kids still have two seasons left of high school lacrosse to play, after all.

Some other teams have rather small recruiting classes along with SU (8). Maryland (7), UVA and Duke (6) all have fewer commits than the Orange. In general, outside of UNC, Notre Dame, Hopkins and Harvard, I don't think many top teams have classes in the double digits. These teams have to fill out their rosters somehow ... just curious if they are keeping spots open for transfers, late bloomers or flips? Probably all of the above. Should be interesting to watch it unfold.

I feel like if Marechek was going to happen it would have already, just my gut feeling

as for uncommitted Attack options according to IL

Class of 26
4 Star Camp Lacorazza, no clue whats going on with that guy, he seems to have just kind of disapeared, he was a Brown Commit at one point.

Class of 27 3 stars

Harry Eynon has a twin brother commited to Ohio State and touts his GPA in his Recruting Profile

Jackson Fontenot, Keaton Gaynor, Kieran Gerne, AJ Pavone, Ryan Scarpa I cant find to much about beyond where they go to high school, which in the Case of Pavone means he at least has connections to a few Cuse guys from Salisbury.

Matthew Herendeen goes to Victor and follows a lot of Cuse Guys, if he's as good as his IL report from a year ago says I would hope we pursue him.

Bowen Ireland and Cade have been mentioned in this thread today already

Brenden James is presumably the brother of Class of 25/26 flip Owen James, they follow each other and went to the same school, but doesnt follow Cuse.

Sully Keith and Cooper Show follow Cuse

Tyler Napolili, Churchill Salathe dont follow Cuse

out of the guys from that list that have some connection to us , based on the IL reports. I like Herendeen and Show the most, followed by Keith, Pavone doesnt have a scouting report, so I cant speak on him.

Herendeens brother plays for Cornell and knowing how their class has gone, I wouldn't be shocked if they are heavily pursuing him, but who knows.

NVM they have way more 3 star As than I thought they did in this class, they probably went going to hard for him

Did Tom Marechek overlap with the Gaits at SU? Has Tom remained close to the program? I guess the rule that alumni have to pledge their first born lax players to SU no longer applies but it still seems odd that Marechek has not committed anywhere. Are grades ever an impediment any longer?

Marechek played with the Gaits in 1989 & 1990.

Yes Tom and the Gait’s are still very close Tom and his son have flown in for several games and Tom said on a podcast he watches every game. Not sure what has transpired since last spring
