I didn't catch much of the game. Did we get home cooking? I know VT is tiny and probably didn't draw contact but that's a big difference

VT clearly employed the Hack-a-Rak strategy.

When your team is shooting 65% from the line overall and around 50% late in the 2nd half, teams will take the odds to make you earn your points at the line. Mike G, Tyler etc are inviting being hacked every time they think of shooting until they can consistently hit free throws. This was a common strategy against us in the 80's. I think Christmas has made them pay so they are probably just grasping at straws stopping him at all.

Tech was lucky it wasn't 290-8. They are lucky nobody got arrested. Williams is another one of these coaches who tells his players to push the envelope as far as they can, knowing that the refs won't call everything they do. The low VT total was because they are a perimeter team and when they did drive to the basket, Rak couldn't afford to challenge them.
