Dare we dream?
Absolutely. Temple is a win for sure.
Id be thrilled with 6-6. Lets be serious.

Are you kidding me????? We are 4-4 now, with wins in our pocket coming up against Temple/Mizzouri. If you don't want to dream about the BCS that is fine and dandy, but at least give the team a little respect and the minimum at least hope for 1-1 in the two tough games (for a 7-5 record). If you are throwing in the towel on Cincy and Louisville now, what's the point of playing the games?? The Dome will be rockin' for Louisville (I forgot to mention earlier a 4th reason---it's also the final Big East game in Dome history).
We just pulled a rabbit out of our hat (awesome), but I have a hard time calling games on the road "in our pocket." We're going to be in a fight every game we play.We are 4-4 now, with wins in our pocket coming up against Temple/Mizzouri..
Temple is a win for sure.
I could not disagree more. Nothing on our schedule is a sure win. You sound like a Rutger's fan. Nothing personal.
Hell 2004 is calling, if we beat Temple in that game SU goes to the Fiesta Bowl and the GRob era never happens. Letting Walter Washington destroy us in 2004 set the Syracuse program 5 years.1998 called, it wants your post back.
We were one play away from being 3-5, now we have bcs bowl posts. Gotta love fan sport forums!

We are learning to win, which is hopefully what is happening right now but to say our record is a reflection on how bad the Big East is, is somewhat misleading. To anyone who watched the games, including fans of the other team, we were the better team in games we lost against Minnesota and NW. USC is the only game we lost by more than one score and even in that game we had the ball with the chance to take the lead opening the 4th quarter. Some of these garbage BE teams have beaten some garbage in the conference we're going to next year. I think we're a solid football team that should be at least 6-2 if we didnt shoot ourselves in the foot so much.I hate to say it, but it's more a reflection on how bad the Big East Conference has become for football. If you noticed, in none of my posts did I actually talk about SU being a real good football team, lol. Just doing the math more than anything. (and also seeing how bad Rutgers was today, so figuring they will lose 1-2 more).
Eric - Im a huge fan of your enthusiasm but you cant tell me it would shock you if we lost 3 of our last 4 games. At 5-2 last year we were all saying the same things. I think 6-6 is VERY realistic and 7-5 would be AMAZING. Louisville continues to have our number and that game IMO is probably an L. Cincy is THE Game in this equation. Win that and I think 7-5 is a definite possibility. Losing to Cincy and then to Louisville and its 2011 all over again IMO.
Good point about last year. I do recall being all giddy in the Fine Lot post-game after the WVU blowout and saying similar things. That was truly bizarre last year the way we closed. I do agree that Cincy is 'the game'. I actually think we have a better shot of beating Louisville at home (assuming the fans do indeed show up).
Have you watched any other teams besides Syracuse this year??? Temple lost to Pitt today by 30, a team we beat. Temple lost to Rutgers by 25, a team that got completely spanked today by Kent State. Temple nearly lost to UCONN, a team we beat by 30 (they squeaked out a 3 point OT win). You want to know who Temple's other 2 wins were against?? Villanova and USF both at home. And to say I sound like a Rutgers fan---that should be grounds for a lifetime ban. That is probably the worst thing you can say to someone!
Tell you what though, the Big East wants to fill it's 6 bowl affiliation slots and Notre Dame doesn't look like it's going to swipe one away this year. They won't care if SU or Pitt each take one with UConn, USF and probably Temple being unlikely to reach the magic number.I'll tell you what, the big east has raised it's doomsday scenario meter to def-con 4.
If we beat cincy it goes to three.
