3 losing seasons in last 5 years

I am sorry but what Red said was flat out crap and passing the blame,
This team had tons of raw talent, the most In awhile.
A good coach would find a way to maximize that talent and build a winning culture.
He has sent us to our second losing season, with no accountability except to say it was harder than expected
He has become an old crybaby.

Awful, such a sad state of affairs. My wife turned to me (while wearing a Syracuse shirt) and said are you not putting the game on?

Looking forward to the new regime and breath of fresh air. Here’s hoping this is the last time we feel this way at the end of a season for a very long time.
Rome wasn’t built in a day. Just praying we can have exciting basketball 🏀 again and start a string of NCAA’s.

Happy belated birthday! (I assume the 0307 is March 7). If it’s not ignore this socially awkward post.
Hah, nope. I believe you and I share the same birthday and you may be a year or two older than me. 03-07 were the years I spent on the hill in undergrad.

Really makes me appreciate the great run under JAB. We were lucky to have him. I was lucky to see his entire career. His only real mistake was not letting me walk on.

second mistake - he didn't let me walk on either!

I honestly liked this team. Showed flashes. Great coach would have got us somewhere

completely agree. team had good components, and seemed motivated early in the year. fell apart before ACC games, and lost interest, spirit, commitment, etc. a good coach would have gotten at least 3 and maybe 5-6 more wins.

Just goes to show how incredibly poor the coaching staff was, and how they were able to coax in terms of the sum, then the aggregation of the individual parts.
I agree.

They actually looked good at the beginning of the year. Looked like a team that could compete. and that was with supposedly the best player out with injury. It's gotta come down to the coaching when you see a team just get progressively worse as the season goes on, especially when it wasn't due to losing any key players to injury.

November 15th? You, me and Macho Man Randy Savage (RIP).

Red’s comments yesterday really infuriate me. His job was to navigate all the changes in the college landscape. None of this should have surprised him. He’s been in the college game for years and NIL, the portal,
and university-paid player compensation all either existed, or were clearly looming, from day one of his HC tenure.

Not only could Red not coach his way out of a wet paper bag, he was caught flat footed in advocating for the necessary resources to succeed in this new environment.

The former I can almost excuse, he’s a smart guy but can’t transfer knowledge to his players.

The latter is inexcusable. He was unprepared and unmotivated. Honestly with 20/20 hindsight he should have been canned last year after his utterly disastrous offseason in the spring and summer of 2024. That was the sign that he was not even close to being up to the task of running a good program.
He’s a smart guy? Show me an example? Seems like a nice guy but smart isn’t a description I’d use.

He was smart to convince SUAD to give him a job over the guy who has turned around Siena.
